Mafia V: The Cult of Sekham

Hmmm…

More and more I’m getting the sensation that Mad is just playing TOO Mad to be scum.

I didn’t see enough support for the 7:30 idea, so assume the day ends at 9:30 PM EDT UNLESS MadTheSwine loses his majority (ie, his votes drop to 11 or less) prior to that time. I’ll simply end the day as soon as I can (probably around 1 or 2 AM) and then, because one of the main reasons for cutting the day short is to keep the Dawn on Sunday Night, I’ll have the Night end at 9:30 anyway…probably just cutting off a few hours, because I wouldn’t have time to start the Day until close to lunch time on Monday otherwise.

ETA: Final vote count before the 9:30 deadline will be posted presently.

A total of 20 out of 23 Votes have been cast. The day will end in 5 hours unless MadTheSwine’s vote count reduces to less than 12 by that time.

** MadTheSwine ** (16) - Queuing, Malacandra, fluiddruid, USCDiver, SnakesCatLady, Kyrie Eleison, Idle Thoughts, HazelNutCoffee, FlyingCowOfDoom, NAF1138, Captain Klutz, sachertorte, amrussell, Pleonast, DiggitCamara, Fretful Porpentine
** Zeriel ** (2) - MadTheSwine, Hockey Monkey
** Captain Klutz ** (1) - Zeriel
** Hockey Monkey ** (1) - ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies

I had better say something about this.
I made a post over there in response to something storyteller said, just goofing about , but I can see how it might misinterpreted, rather easily. It means nothing whatsoever,it was just a joke and I shouldn’t have posted it.
Sorry to everyone.

Well, I’m about to be leaving for the day (the real day :p) so let me go through this again.

Mad is in the game at first, then disappears for about four days, and is still allowed to stay in the game (although BM did say he replied to the poke PM unlike others). Still, it doesn’t make sense to me and would point to the fact, to me, he’s either scum or a power role…nevertheless SOMETHING importantish enough to stay in the game.

I feel, like most do, it’s the former…but as of late, just the way he’s been playing and his posts, it’s like he wants to be killed. I don’t know what to make of this. All I can think of is a Town Idiot role of some kind, but that would mean that he IS town since that role is a pro-good role.

And now I’m just confusing myself more.

He’s smarter than this. In fact I’d wager to say he’s very cunning. I just am getting niggling feels that if he were scum, he wouldn’t be playing like he is now but would go at lengths to try to fool and hide it from everyone.

Right now, my doubts have shoved him down, in my mind, to the same level as Pleonast again, in my suspicions. However Pleo, at least to me, has been consistant in his building of suspicion. Mad is making me have doubts.

I have a feeling this is going to come back and bite me on the ass the next Day or sometime but since I can spare no more thought or minutes in this Day’s game and it’ll be Night when I return…Unvote Mad and vote Pleonast
It doesn’t seem to matter at this point but if Mad IS TOWN and (and here is what I’m thinking) some sort of trip wire or bomb or Avatar for the good side (and he’s certainly acting like it), well, I’m not taking any chances.

Which is exactly why I didn’t vote for him. “Insane” is not “scummy”, even if many players probably still think he needs to die.

I probably didn’t make this as clear as I should have, so let me try again. I’m not voting for MadTheSwine to find out the truth of his claim. I’m voting for him, because I cannot determine the truth of his claim, and that leaves me with all of the reasons I was previously voting for him.

Finding out the truth is a nice side effect, not the reason.

Hmm…guess all I can hope for now is that I am the secret role and its a secret even from me.

So far, Day 4 has been about Mad the Swine. I don’t know if he is off the rails, or if he just wants out of the game, or if he is scum. I just know that there has been very little serious searching for scum done toDay, and I am just as guilty as anyone else. I already had suspicions of Mad prior to his bizarre actions; mainly because of his lack of meaningful participation. No matter if he is town or cult, he has cost the town a day of scum-searching and that is not good for the town. As I have mentioned before, there are other players I suspect, but they are at least contributing to the game and not derailing it into a “look at meeeeee” fest.

In short, I don’t think Mad’s actions have been good for the town and for that reason my vote will remain on him. If he is booby-trapped and I die as a result of my vote, have a drink in my honor, look at the suspicions I have left behind and remember I tried to do my best for the town. Oh, yeah - someone remember to feed the Psychic Cat. She’s allergic to milk but likes tuna. Don’t let her get into the Bailey’s.

As long as I’m around, there won’t be any Bailey’s left for her to get into.

Just so everyone knows, I’ll be out of town until Monday night–internet access will be intermittent at best, so if I’m quiet at night (for once!) that’ll be why.

No serious scum searching? Thats what this was all about.
You might not think so now,but I believe my actions have located scum, so my actions have been and will be good for the town.
I really don’t wanna think I did all this for nothing, but it seems no one is even considering my FOS’s…I think you should.
I didn’t do this for myself to have a little fun at your expenses,I did it to catch scum with winning the game in mind and piss off for saying otherwise. Forgive me for trying something a little unusual.

And Snakes,it is meaningful content. Just cause you don’t agree with the angle I have tried doesn’t make it meaningless.

Sorry bout the piss off comment.

On a similar note, it’s 23:19 here so I won’t be posting any more tonight. I don’t really think I’ve got anything to add now - I certainly don’t see a reason to change my vote. I will see you all toNight.

Since your claimed strategy is to act scummy enough to get yourself dunked, don’t be surprised that we think you’re scummy enough to ignore, at least at this point. For good or ill, Mad, no one will spend time on your suspicions until we see whether or not you float. If you turn up Town, take comfort in the fact that we will take you seriously.

Several of us have started looking at others, but it seems like that’s fizzled.

Uh huh…I bet you’ll be to busy over at scumboard to come drinking.

I gotta head out so I wont be around for the dunk.

*leaves money at bar for a round of drinks and a special order of Hazel Nut Coffee with extra Nut for Hazel.

Well…thanks Pleo. That coming from some one else would make me feel better though.

Actually, jackass, I’m going to be drinking too much in real life at my little brother’s destination bachelor party, but thanks for playing.

In all seriousness, I think you’re town, but I’m not taking you seriously because I think you’re acting too erratically to be generating decent suspicions. Four days and your contribution to the suspicions is based almost entirely on one half-baked scheme with lots of gaping holes?

BTW, Mad, the “jackass” was meant mostly good-naturedly, as I’m sure your comments were.

I agree with a couple of other posters. MadTheSwine’s actions Today have suppressed discussion. Not only has the Day been truncated, but no-one has said anything seriously about other players since the fan-dance started.

My problem is that not only has Mad suppressed discussion Today, I don’t actually believe that many useful conclusions can be drawn in future Days either. The behaviour was so egregious that it polarised everyone. I personally have no doubt that some surviving Cultists have voted for Mad - and some haven’t. I honestly don’t think Mad’s plan has helped at all.

I’ve just reread the thread, and got absolutely zilch in the way of firm suspicions, because (I firmly believe) of the way Mad’s actions warped the Day’s discussions.

In fact I’d go so far as to say that if Mad was a cultist, he’s actively harmed the Cult by strapping himself in the dunking chair, but if he’s not he’s given the Cult a day free of the chance of losing a member to lynching. So whoever he’s playing for he’s hurt. Unless his role has a sting in the tail that he knows about and is counting on.

I’m completely stuck. No vote I can make will change the result, and I don’t have a significant enough level of suspicion of anyone else to make a vote. Right at this minute, I’m most suspicious of Zeriel, but since this is based on pointers as flimsy as his Day 1 debate with NAF1138 which I had planned to look at but more sort of didn’t.

Therefore I am going to abstain.
