Mafia V: The Cult of Sekham

<haunts people>

drifts through thread, leaving a faint aroma of catnip

Pom-poms are a scum tell?

walks through, leaving behing an aroma of neoprene rubber

Hm, haunted thread…I think I may have a spell for this. Let’s see…

making gold,
making gold,
gold,
gold again,
more gold,
ah, here it is…making gold out of ghosts.

:::Hockey Monkey turns all the spectres into golden statues:::

Gah!

My apologies, everyone. The workplace & familial obligations snuck up and bit me in the ass late in the week, and continued through the weekend. If it is any consolation, Klutz was one of the folks I was going to be looking at, if I’d had the time to do the looking.

I know no-votes are awful. 10 dimerits for me. :frowning:

Golden idols!!! Foul temptress! Thou shalt have no…

Oops. Wrong religion.

Actually, I was thinking of “Zombie Cheerleader Fetish” as a scum tell.

"2…4…6…8…
What do we appreciate?

BRAAAAINS!"

The fetish is a “only in groups thing” honest!

Sorry it’s running a bit late, but I’ll have the Dawn coming up presently…

It had been a quiet sullen Night; some of this was due to the fact that a third of the town’s population had now been killed since the arrival of the cult. However, it seemed that more of this was due to the sense of failure coming over the town having caught only a single cultist thus far. So it was with these heavy thoughts on their mind that the citizens went to sleep.

It wasn’t until late at Night that a few citizens were awoken by what sounded like a cheer. A few peered out their window to the horrid site of Kat’s charred coprse in a the brilliant yellow and blood red uniform. Of the few citizens who did see the necrotic display, they all feared a ruse of the cult, and locked their doors, clutched to the crescent symbol of Nairu’s protection. That is, all citizens but the brazen HazelNutCoffee.

She knew it to be a ruse, or some sort of sick joke, and she’d hoped she could finally find a lead. She carefully stepped out of her home, blade in hand, toward the undead cheerleader. And though she crept slowly, the zombie **Kat ** seemed unaware as she was now within striking range. But just as she raised the sword, preparing for a decapitating blow, the cheer turned to the screech of a banshee, and the pom-poms–concealing sacrificial daggers–were hurled straight into the heart of of HazelNutCoffee, mortally wounding her.

Just as she fell to the ground, so did the skeletal remains of Kat, as her puppet master, a robe-enshrouded figure, stepped from the shadows. It was her last sight that with knife in hand, the figure knelt over her and proceeded with ritualistically carving her heart from her chest.

Come the rising sun, the terrified citizens observed what remained of the carnage. Poor, unrecognizable HazelNutCoffee; not only had her eyes been so perfectly removed but so too was the delicate skin on her face and neck.

HazelNutCoffee, a Citizen, has been slain.

The Day will end at 10:30 AM EDT on Friday. Please note that all Days will now only last 96 hours as opposed to 120.

Well dang.

Initial knee-jerk response–what does this say about Pleonast’s claim? It says less about Hockey Monkey’s claim, since she’s technically neutral and the scum can imagine we’ll eventually kill her if no better targets come up. It also says little about my claim because leaving me exposed has the possibility that I’ll come under suspicion again and somehow more monks will be revealed.

My wild-ass speculation is that maybe they’re going out of their way to find our remaining big power roles, and don’t consider Pleo enough of one to bother with.

Sitting on a few vote ideas pending a re-read.

RIP Hazelnutcoffee.

I think she was killed because the Cult thought she was the apprentice. I know I did.

Well, quite frankly, if I were in the Cult I’d think twice about night-killing somebody who called himself a Martyr and whose powers were still a great big question mark. For all we know, Pleonast has the ability to make things very nasty for whomever targets him.

If it was me I probably would have taken him out now, when the cult still has a lot of members to potentially limit the damage.

If they take him out now, when they presumably haven’t recruited yet, they could lose the ability to recruit if there’s some kind of backlash that kills the Prophet.

Same here. On the plus side, though, it means we still have a very well concealed Apprentice and both the Priest and the Disciple are still around.

Our numbers are diminishing fast, though.

On the other hand, if his powers are passive, there’s no reason to take him out until the cult looks like it’s further behind than it is. Good catch, Fretful.
