You didn’t miss any posts from me, SCL. Busy day at work - I did post in other threads but getting anything positive for this one requires a lot more… work than shooting off an explanation about bulls in the streets. Heck, explaining bulls in the streets is something I’ve done so often I should put it in my resume
And then when I got home it was time for the Karazhan run in WoW
Then I went to bed. And today, busy at work again :smack:
Mad, you’re making my brain hurt! Stop it, willya?
Does this have too many smileys and not enough info?
Sorry, I missed some questions from yesterday… I’m still catching up.
I apparently have a contradiction between my role description and role summary regarding the Psychopath; my apologies for the uncertainty. The Psychopath is not required to make a kill every night after activation; afterall, he only wants to kill the followers of Nairu and Sekham, not EVERYONE.
Also, a question regarding the Oracle or Apprentice, they will always get their result for the Night, even if they are killed or converted, provided they entered the Night alive. A Psychopath kill, Cultist kill, or Cultist conversion occurs after all other Night actions like investigations, prayers, alchemy, etc.
I’ve been trying to wrap my head around the question to **Blaster ** about the possibility of another Alchemist. I assumed I was the only one. I did not ask the question. As much as I would like to be able to refute the scenario that I asked as a cover…the idea is not ridiculous, although it is meta-gaming. All I can say is that I did not ask **Blaster ** about the possiblily of another. The thought never occurred to me. I suppose a scum could have asked the question to find out if a false claim would be plausible now that I have claimed. Or there is another alchemist and he/she asked. I dunno.
Does anyone else get the feeling that **MadTheSwine ** is *trying * to get dunked? Is there a possibility that his win condition depends on it? This just isn’t the **Mad ** I’ve seen in other games. over this too.
Mad… surely you realize how desperate this sounds. On the flip side, many of the people you mentioned – probably all of them – are on my suspected scum list, so I don’t know what to think.
I am very hard pressed to imagine a townie acting in the manner you’ve described. If I’m wrong, I guess you’ll benefit town through the confirmation of your death.
Mad the Swine - all I can say is nice try. I don’t think it’s going to work. There is a possibility I will change my vote if you come in here and participate. At this point I don’t think that is going to happen, so I’m not changing my vote. Ya know, if you really don’t have time to play you could have taken the high road as others have and asked for a sub instead of trying to get yourself killed and leaving no useful information in the process.
The thought crossed my mind, especially since there is a secret role. The only question in that case is, is Mad pro-town or scum?
I don’t think Mad is the secret role, or more specifically, a secret role that needs to get dunked today. We have no record for Mad, so the town wouldn’t be able to make a reasonable choice. (This is meta-gaming again, but with so many substitutions and missing players, its kind of hard not to). Anyway, my point is, if Mad truly needs to get dunked and needs to get dunked today, it would have been unfair to let Mad slide through the first two days.
To me, this seems like you’re trying to pull down with you as many innocents as possible. Not that that clears anyone on your list, but the way you presented it doesn’t make them look any worse. And it doesn’t help your case. Which, at this point, looks like only you sinking to the bottom of the Sacred Pool will help.
I’ll switch my vote to you later to Day; I’m going to hold off for now to avoid the insta-dunk.
To address the meta-gaming, my intention is to NOT make substitutions unless it is requested of me to do so, preferably through PMs. That is, I have not been tracking participation or post counts; instead, I have poked people when I either noticed lots of “where is so-and-so?” questions in the thread or when I specifically received PMs requesting I do so.
While I consider it poor form to deliberately not participate, I also concede that there is a fine line between failing to participate, and deliberately having a low post count to stay under the radar. Thus, my thoughts are such that if a player gets questioned in thread as to where they’ve been, and they’re deliberately laying low, it should be self-correcting because he’s just drawn attention to himself which is contrary to his actions. However, if he fails to respond, to ensure it isn’t due to IRL issues, I will consider a sub when they do not respond to my prodding.
In the case of MadTheSwine, I received PMs requesting I poke him. By the time I started seeing calls for his subbing, I had received a response and the general feel of the game seemed to be to let him pass. In the case of MonkeyMensch, I received PMs requesting I poke him, and he did not respond by the time I started receiving requests for him to be subbed out. Thus, my conclusion is that both had IRL issues, and one was able to get back in time, and the other was not.
FWIW, I intend to use this same process, on everyone, regardless of their role because I do not want the onus to lay on me–someone who isn’t playing the game–to decide where the fine line between lurking and lack of participation should be drawn. Hence, please do not use the fact that MadTheSwine was not subbed as reason to believe I thought his role to be either of great or minimal value as it was based on the responses I received in thread and not on his role.
Attention all ye citizens of Adamsborough, from hence forth, the role of Pasta will be played by amrussell. An updated player list will follow presently.

There will be a 12-hour countdown if/when MadTheSwine (or any other candidate) receives a majority of the votes. For Today, that would constitute 12 votes.
I know ending the day early is a bad thing, and I’ve been a proponent of extending the day to get us out of the hell that is Days ending on Sunday, BUT I think this might be a good opportunity to dunk MadTheSwine on Friday. I propose we push the vote to 12 Friday Morning for a Friday Evening Dunk. Dunking on Friday will knock us out of the weekend rut we’ve found ourselves in every Day, which is a good thing and worth ending the day early for in my opinion.
Furthermore, I really don’t think anything useful will come to light over the weekend. I for one will be reading Harry Potter.
