Make that 28,999, Zenster.

I like Zenster.

He is a food snob. He is passionate about recipes and his culinary skills. This can lead to arguments.

He is good people.

Just think of him the same way you would think of Niles or Frasier.

I will agree with you right up to the Niles/Frasier reference, at which point you lost me; female viewpoint…

I would suggest that we must meet Ogre and Zenster for a tall glasses of scotch, so that we can resolve this issue for once and all.

Cheers!

I have only “known” Zenster a short time and haven’t been following all of his threads, but from e-mail and phone conversation I find him to be very decent and very intelligent if strong-worded sometimes. So what if everyone doesn’t like him? Does it call for a thread? If I posted a thread about everyone who didn’t like me, I’d be up typing all night, and who really cares anyway?

My only wish is that Zen and jarbabyj had taken their differences to e-mail, but that’s just me. I have nothing at all against either member and enjoy reading each one’s posts. I just don’t like to see discord or mean-spiritedness. But I guess when you post in here, you are “asking for it”, right?

I hate the whole pile-on thing, and I hope this can be resolved without any further conflict.

Thanks

Q

No more pile-ons! From now on, when someone posts a rant, just leave it be. This forum should be a series of zero-response threads.

I agree. I HATE pileons!!!

C’mon, who’s with me??

Oh, and Zenster’s okay by me, too. His recipe threads are inspiring, and the stories I’ve heard of his generosity and compassion have me wishing there were more people like him.

Passionate? Yes.

Opinionated? Sure.

Know-it-all? Compared to me, close enough more often than not. Hey, when you know more, feel free to lord it over him if it makes you feel better.

Deserving of multiple bitch threads? Not in my book, but then, everybody’s got a book.

Ooohh Ohhhh! (Zebra points to his nose and then points to Sapphirs’s nose)

Would a zen buddist call for the death penalty as often and as fervently as Zenster does?

I hate pile-ons. Half the time I can’t see them and I end up tapping them with my front bumper and scaring the shit out of myself.

Actually hardygrrl, I believe someone DID call him on his off board behavior. I cannot remember who it was, but it was posted around the time I first found the board. Someone linked to it just last week as well. I’ll see if I can’t dig it up.

It will be hard though, I don’t remember much of the circumstances.

I meant within this thread - I remember the other one. I should have been more specific. :smack:

I think I remember a thread he posted in MPSIMS, that I felt would have been better placed in the Pit, and we discussed this on the phone. Yeah, we disagreed but it hasn’t hurt our online friendship.

Q

I have had a couple of interactions with Zenster and have no problem with him whatsoever.

I am a cook and love the recipe threads.

We all have “hot-button” issues that get us going. I know I do.

So, add me to the short list of people who are cool with him!

I do not know Zenster personally, only online. Of online posted disagreements there has been only one. Pretty good rate for as long as I have been here.

I will not detail personal email communications except to say that there he has always been helpful and sympathethic, especially when I was so upset about the feral kittens I ran over. Passionate about animals even more than cooking. Do a search on “Chubz”. I couldn’t have done what he did there.

I just want to point out that well over 30,000 Dopers have not posted to this thread, so 30,000 Dopers have no problem with Sapphire Bullet’s OP. Actually, since what we’re going with in this bit of logic is people who had the opportunity to read the OP, we’re not talking about the paltry 37,000 people who are already members, we’re really talking about everyone who has internet access and reads English. Anyone have an estimate on that?

After all, they each could have read this thread. And been moved enough by the OP (one way or another) to register and post.

If you find this reasoning ill-conceived, then you know why the original claim seemed a little brash.

Green Bean really summed it up best.

I have no opinion on a pit thread which plays off of it; I’m just a-sayin here, like I did there, that I thought it was a faulty way to affirm one’s merits as a poster.

Well, of the 37000 registered Dopers absolutely none of them have posted that they would not send me one hundred dollars.

So where’s my money?

Boom chucka boom diddy wahh wahh boom…

I got a dollar bill between my teeth… Bring on da love.
