The SDMB is poorer for this turn of events. Manhattan did a superb job here (except for his puzzling refusal to implement my suggested policy of cutting off a finger of those who post incorrect answers in GQ) and will be sorely missed.

I won’t say that I’m sad to see manhattan go; I’ll instead ask what took him so long. No, I’m not talking about the impact on the Board, but on manny himself. Being a moderator is a very stressful job, and manhattan has been on it for far longer than most. I’m surprised he’s not in an insane asylum somewhere already, and I’m glad he had the sense to resign before that came to pass. Why, if I were a moderator, I wouldn’t have lasted a year.
