Okay, I only watch this show to fill the gap between House and the Big Bang. But this season they introduced Russell the pharmacist, played by Martin Mull, who is always excellent. He made his second appearance last night, prescribing marijuana for Charlie’s sleepliness, with a video hookup to a Pakistani doctor for a prescription (Bad news. You got glacoma…Excuse me…Best Buy customer service).
I hope they keep the character. 2 1/2 Men survives because of its supporting cast not by Charlie Sheen playing Charlie [del]Sheen[/del] Harper. Sheen has signed on for two more years.
Mull is always a hoot. The look on Alan’s face when he discovered he needed gas station sweatpants was priceless.
I’m amazed they found all of those actresses free at the same time to do this episode. Or maybe they digitized them (rimshot).
Glad to see Sheen didn’t screw it for Jon Cryer, whom(?) I always thought was underrecognized.
Martin Mull was hysterical last night. It always makes the show better when he and Charlie interact in his drug store.
And apparently, wonder of all wonders, Charlie can’t hang with Berta in drug debauchery. I guess he’ll just have to stick to his drug of choice - alcohol. 
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Conchata Ferrell in a role I didn’t absolutely adore. Berta has always been my favorite supporting character on this show.
Remember Hot l Baltimore? I’m not sure it ran for even a whole season, back when shows weren’t canceled so quickly, but it didn’t run very long. Funny as hell.
I fell asleep in the chair and missed it, but woke up for BBT. Sorry to have missed Mull.
ETA: Not sure how I feel about two more years. This season has been pretty lame, and I really, really hate the Chelsea character.
I do remember it, very vaguely. I was pretty young when it ran (just checked on Wikipedia…it ran in 1975, so I was 4), but I do remember that my family watched it at least once. I don’t know if it was on for more than that or if the prostitutes and gay couple were too much for my parents.
She was also in the short-lived comedy E/R with Elliot Gould (that preceded the more famous show of the same name).
I thought it was a pretty good episode. Any episode with Rena Sofer in it, is OK by me. The farting contest was hilarious.
Mull has played Russell on 2.5 for many seasons. Just not often.
According to wiki, Mull only started playing Russell last year (season 6).
My guess is, he’s such a perfect fit for the show that it seems like he’s been on it forever.
Was that the one that had George Clooney or the one that had George Clooney?
I really like Ferrell’s role as Susan Bloom in LA Law. She was a hoot.
According to IMDB Mull has played Russell three times since 2008. It seems to me he has been on even before that.
