Masking up (again) in the MMP

I’ve noticed more and more people in my county wearing masks in stores and into restaurants. We’re among them. I’m so glad in live in a county with many sensible people. The others are easy to recognize and avoid. Ye shall know them by their nekkid faces!

:open_mouth:

Happy Moanday!!

We never stopped masking up when in stores, restaurants and any other public buildings. When the word went out that if you were fully vaccinated you no longer need to wear a mask we realized that all of the people who complained about masks now only needed to claim that they were vaccinated.

We did not trust that everyone would be honest about their vaccination status.

It seems to be a little over 75% of people around here are masking. I wonder if those plexiglass barriers will ever go away.

I’m up, fed, and going to try to motivate. Onward!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 85 with an eighty percent chance of rain. Looks like Fred will pay us a visit after all. I have to go to the drug store to pick up a 'script so I shall take care of this hopefully before any deluge. Other than that the plan is to be inside and dry. Sup shall be poke roast (already in the slow cooker) succotash, rice, and rolls.

There are a lot more people wearin’ masks in these parts. We’ve been maskin’ up to go in stores, restaurants, etc. pretty much all along as hippie said. I’m fine to be out in the open without a mask but feel safer wearin’ one inside. We even went back to mandated masks in church at the first of August cause of the uptick in covid cases around here.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life is just so difficult!

Happy Moanday Y’all!

I was going to drive to the office today but figured I’d better take one day on “Do Not Disturb” to catch up on my emails. If I go into the office, I’ll be interrupted constantly, so I won’t get through the hot stuff.

I didn’t sleep well and am tired, but it seems this is the norm anymore.

Yesterday, my daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids came down to spend the day with us. We had a good time and kept the grandkids entertained. In a couple of weeks, we’re going to keep Zoe for the weekend so the kids get a small break. Adam is a hoot! Smart, inquisitive, and just brimming with cheer and laughter. Of course, we were lucky and got to see him after his two top teeth broke through the gums. He was miserable up until that happened. Zoe likes to brush Grandma’s hair, “play toys” and see Grandma’s bed. She likes to sit and lie on the bed and just chat with me. We also played outside and went to the park yesterday. She was having a bit of a meltdown, but we got her calmed down. I also got her to eat most of her dinner last night. She’s not much for eating, so we were all pleased that I got her to do it. Most of the time, when it’s just Zoe, my husband, and I, I can get her to pretty much eat most of what’s on her plate at mealtimes, but there are times when a few bites is a real accomplishment.

I really, really just want to go back to sleep, lol! Time for another cup of coffee!

Roxy went thru a phase when she wanted to crawl under the covers on my side of the bed and watch TV. Sometimes I had to join her, but usually I could take advantage of a chance to get some chores done. Now, for the most part, TV is background noise while she plays, with an occasional pause to look at the screen.

I was texting with my niece this morning - she’s due on Feb 15 and they haven’t opened the email telling the baby’s sex. She said they’re waiting till their Fantasy Football party on Sep 5 to do a reveal. I recommended they forego explosives! Once they know if it’s a boy or a girl, she’s going to let me know what color baby afghan she’d like.

Last night was the pits. We had a late lunch yesterday, and I threw caution to the wind and had some Diet Coke. The caffeine had serious staying power - I was up till after 1 of the AM!! FCD had fallen yesterday, so his back was hurting and he couldn’t sleep. Plus I got up at least twice at the urging of my bladder. I figure I might have gotten 4 hours of randomly broken sleep. It’s gonna be a long day…

For now, well, that carpet won’t vacuum itself, so I guess I’ll step away from the computer and get all productive. yeah, productive. :stuck_out_tongue:

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Vacation Day 2. I have no plans, but between Delta, Fred, and Grace, there’s gonna be a lot of staying home. The city is back to an indoor mask mandate, which is fine because I was remasking 3 weeks ago. I avoid the places where the non masker congregate.

With the 11 pick in the 2021 Fantasy Draft, the Chat Chargers select…a girl!

Howdy.

'Beamer started back to school last week. He rides the bus (huzzah!) and so we’re up at 6 to get him out the door at 7, and thus starts my day. Side note: he has suddenly started showering daily and even did his laundry. Woo! Socialization for the win. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The coffee is made and I’m about to have my second cup. It feels like it will be a long day.

I/we survived a PG&E outage last week. I’m trying to arrange an interim treatment until my CSF specialist is back from sabbatical. 1) This is a PITA and 2) I feel like I’m racing the COVIDiots to get any medical treatments done. We’ve got mask mandates here, but so far nothing else. I feel that it’s just a matter of time before everything shuts down again.

I have no idea what we’ll do for dinner. I must mull this over and potentially shop. Home Depot also notified me that the cabinet that I ordered for over the toilet is here. I need to pick it up and get it hung.

So begins the day. GO M-M-P!

Good morning everyone. I was working on a Skyblock last night, and “Just One More Thinged” myself until 12:30. No ride this morning. I’m caffeinated at least.

We’ve been masked this whole time, since Mrs Magill was doing chemo, and we were cautious about everything since Squeaky had brought home a cold that sent her to the hospital. We were looking forward to an unmasked autumn, but thanks to Delta and dumbasses that’s not going to happen. Mrs Magill did have to venture out to the shops Saturday, and she reported that at least 50% of the people were masked. I guess that’s not bad for a county that had made the national news because of the afore mentioned dumbasses showing up at a school board meeting.

Time to put the coffee cups in the dishwasher.

Have a good week everyone.

I’ve been feeling like that for a few weeks now. One result: obsessing about making sure we have needed supplies.

“When someone asked me if I had plans for the fall, it took me a minute to realize they meant autumn, and not the end of civilization.”
But I’ve been hoarding TP, just to be ready for either.

I’d make sure to have good stock on other things that were a problem last year, such as disinfectants and hand sanitizer. I’m very well-stocked, and making sure we have backup supplies of OTC meds and such. Pet supplies are fine, and I’ve got a full upright freezer, plus plenty of canned and pantry goods.

sunny and seanette, I almost wish we would shut down again. By no means do I want the kids learning virtually again, but in the great state of Missouri where personal liberty reigns supreme it feels like we’re in a cesspool of infection. This whole experience has been super eye opening, though - I feel like I never actually knew about 50% of the people I’m friends with.

Today is unusually nice for August - sparkly outside, set to be in the mid 80sF. I’ve got a buttload of training to complete for work today. I’ve been ignoring it since May, so I guess I’d better get started. It’s not due for a couple of months, but those months tend to go by fast. Time to get more coffee - they try to “gameify” our training now, so it isn’t as easy as sitting through a presentation (probably good, but I do feel like I’m watching a kids show sometimes).

Did anyone feel the disturbance in The Force? I dusted. And vacuumed!! And before I did that, I took the vacuum out to the shop to clean it. It’s so nice having an industrial compressor at my disposal!

Unfortunately, while cleaning the stuff wound around the beater bar, I noticed two splits in the hose where it flexes from locked upright to vacuuming position. I used some electrical tape to seal it the best I could, but because of the way it’s installed, I couldn’t wrap it around without completely disassembling the machine. I’ve got to decide now if I want to go that far, or just order a new one. I bought this one in Feb '18, so it’s not that old and the motor works just fine. Maybe I’ll attempt surgery on it.

Meanwhile, I’m waiting for a call-back from the credit union. I need to set up an appointment with our money guy for our annual review. It’s overcast with a threat of rain, so the comforter and afghan won’t be getting washed today. I guess once I empty the dishwasher, I can chill. And I can find out who’s going to try to kill Anna Pigeon this time!

Good morning all. The activities of Sunday caught up with me and I stayed in bed until nearly 9am, so now it is catch-up day. Need to get the Moanday sammich from Jersey Mike’s (if the remodeling is done), but all the shopping I usually do today got done yesterday. Small chance of rain, so we’ll see if the soccer fields are open or not after yesterday’s drenching.

More masks here and I’m back to carrying one with me all the time, hospitals are getting pretty full again. But this is Ali-bama, so no mandates or incentives…

This week begins youth soccer–so I’ll be practicing with the kids for 4 nights a week and coaching 3 games every Saturday (and may work a referee gig in there too). That’ll be my life (such as it is) until Mid-November. At least it’ll get me out of the house…

Everyone have a great Moanday and take care now.

Thrilled I am not. New wildfire 60 miles from me, and air “quality” was quite questionable enough from fires further away.

Overcast, and about 62º. Looks like we had a little sprinkle of rain.

Irking from the couch. Later I’ll take the unneeded sheet of corrugated polycarbonate roofing back to the hardware store. I was hoping the hardware store had green fiberglass, but they didn’t; so I got smoke poly instead. After irk I’ll shift the firewood into the new shed.

Happy Moonday!

Didn’t stay long at the park this morning. Only three of us showed up and both of them had to leave early.
Just as well as I got home before the rain.

It’s an annoyance morning.
The biotch two doors up dropped a package at my door with a note that she thought it was for me. No, it’s not for me. Just because the first name on the package is a common nickname for my name does not mean the package belongs to me.
So, thanks for dumping some more shit on me.
A little googling and I found out where the package belongs and I’ll walk it down there when the rain stops, or I feel like it.
I’ll need to apologize for opening it, but I opened it before I looked at the label.

I have to call AT&T again. For some reason they think my son works for Marion County ESDA. Or I got an email to some such nonsense. I suppose it would be rude to insist on talking to someone whose first language is English and can handle issues that are not part of the script.

I also need to call the cable company back, and the hospital billing department.
Oh, fucking joy and happiness.

I wanted to take the truck to the carwash today and vacuum it out so we can put the seat covers back on. I can get the back one on by myself, but I’m not strong enough to get the front covers on. They are a tight fit.
That’s not going to happen in the rain though.

I got a good night’s sleep to make up for Saturday nights awake-athon. It’s only supposed to get into the 70’s today, so maybe in addition to the gym, I’ll go for a long walk. No rain, though. I feel like I went to sleep in the PNW and awoke in the Mojave.

I’m masking up again when I go out–not for walks, of course, but when I go in a store. And my patience is but a thin veneer. Blathering on about rights without considering responsibilities isn’t a diatribe on freedom; it’s the rant of a spoiled child.

I have plenty of TP and enough hand sanitizer to disinfect every preschooler in the state. I never stocked up on the latter. I had two bottles I’d received as gifts pre-pandemic, and then my insurance company sent me a huge bottle as part of a wellness package. For the rest, well, I don’t know how doomsday preppers manage when they live in apartments.

FCM, at least you had company in your insomnia. I hope you and FCD both sleep well tonight.

sunny, yay on Beamer showering AND doing his laundry! You’re obviously raising that boy right.

I never stopped masking. We have to wear a mask at work. And there are non-COVID cooties out there so I will continue wearing a mask in public places. I’ve had only one sinus infection in 18 months and that was after my cataract surgery. Plus I can’t stand the general population so I try to avoid them.

Today is a beautiful summer day. Mid 80s, sunny, no hoomidity.
