meep, meep, what do YOU drive?

2005 Toyota Prius. White. Since I drive about 150 miles a day (to and from work), getting 55-65 MPG is A Good Thing.

When we got it, I thought that it was just going to be a basic econo-box, but now I’m actually enjoying it quite a bit. Best feature: AC and audio controls built in to the steering wheel. Now I can raise/lower the temp, or change radio stations and adjust volume, with the touch of a thumb.

I’m driving an '89 Dodge Daytona CS Turbo, of which only 2,237 were ever built. It is in good shape and runs pretty well for having nearly 180,000 miles on it. I should mention that I’ve had a lot of repairs and maintenance done on it over the past three years of ownership.

Eventually I will get something else. I’d prefer something American-made but am willing to consider otherwise.

Driving: 2003 Mazda Miata.
Wishing: 2005 Lotus Elise.

Backseats are for suckers

Right now, driving a 2003 Ford Escape. Great vehicle.

Right now, the wife has a 1996 Ford Taurus. But we’ll be getting rid of that soon - our philosophy has always been to have one sports car, and one ‘sensible vehicle’ for utility. So the Taurus goes, and in the spring we’re going to buy either a Subaru WRX or a 2005 Mustang GT. Can’t decide. Like the GT a lot, but I also like the WRX, and it’s a much, much better winter car. Important in Edmonton.

I drive a '92 Mazda B2200 pickup. Not much to look at, since it’s a “working” truck and not a grocery-hauler, but she’s the most dependable vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Once upon a time, I owned a 1970 Mustang Mach I. I miss it, a lot. But my dream ride is a 1967 Galaxie 500 ragtop.

I have a 2003 Mini Cooper in British Racing Green and a Union Jack on the roof.

As much as I enjoy looking at Jaguars, any Jaguars on this side of the Atlantic or the other, I also like my wee Mini to pieces (just zipped me up from Baltimore to Newark, DE, this afternoon…)

I just picked up a five-speed 1991 Nissan Stanza for $800+tax+title last week. It’s got a 136,000 miles on it and seems to run well. The exterior has some dings, but no major rusting, and the interior is in extremely good condition. I really do quite like the car, so I hope it lasts at least a year or so.

I have a 93 Toyota pickup. Extended cab, sunroof, canopy. It’s getting old enough that some little things are going out. I just replaced all the belts and hoses, shocks, and a lower ball joint. The ignition switch is intermittant and the lights for the heater controls quit working. Depending on how a new union contract goes with my employer this next September, I will be looking for something newer and bigger.

My wife has a 97 Taurus that has been costly to keep on the road. We have had the car just a bit over a year and had to replace a cam timing sensor ($215), power window motor ($150), and a new catalytic converter ($190).

In the garage is my 66 GTO. Today would have been a nice day to take it for a drive but it would have taken me an hour just to get all the stuff out of the way just to get the car out of the garage. She’s going to get a thorough going over this spring and summer, I’m going to drive it to Reno for Hot August Nights. Part of the going over includes a rear end with some highway gearing, with the 4:11 ratio in now, I only get about 12 mpg on a good day.

'97 Chevy Cavalier but this March I will be driving a Volvo S40.

2001 BMW 540i
2002 BMW 330xi
2002 BMW M-Coupe
They’ve all got stick shifts.
I’d like to get a Bianchi SASS single speed mtn bike.
Mainly because it’s chrome.

I’d race you. 'Course Vette #2 is Supercharged.

Vette #1 is in pieces. :frowning:

The Wife Drives an Avalanche

The daily driver is a PT cruiser (used to be 44 miles a day, now 2 miles a day) with the slack picked up by a NeoPlan turbodeisel bus owned by RTD. (I sure do like getting nearly 8 hours a day back by riding the bus.)

Depending upon circumstances/mood I’ll either drive my 1969 Chrysler Newport or my 1990 Pontiac Grand Am (you can see pics here). I’d much rather be driving the Chrysler all the time, but it needs some work, and I don’t want to tear the car up. The Pontiac needs work as well, but I really don’t care if it dies or not.

'02 Audi A4 3.0, purchased new.
An Audi does not go “meep meep”. I’d give you a wav file of the horn’s sound, but the San Francisco Symphony is too busy this weekend.
Peace,
mangeorge

Zoom-zoom!

'95 Miata, black/tan. Perfict size for me.

(My ideal car is one where I can reach the pedals comfortably, can see over the dash, don’t have to hug the steering wheel to drive, and don’t feel like an itty bitty kid trying to drive tank. I don’t demand much from my cars, as you can see.)

<< Sleep. Friends. Grades. Pick two. >>

1996 Ford Contour. My first car (I’m only 21, and this one still has under 100,000 miles on it, though not by much).

I’d like a Neon, someday. They’re cute little cars, and they’re all I need. I’m talking the new Neon, not the old POS ones.

My advice? (I can’t help it)
Drive the wheels off that Ford and save a few more bucks, then take a careful look at Neon’s reputation. Read reviews and such. Then get a Civic. Or that cute little Toyota.
Peace,
mangeorge

So how is work on the Death Star coming along?

2002 Ford Escape. It really is an awesome vehicle.

I’ve been tossing the idea of trading it in for an Escape Hybrid, but I’m not sure yet. I’m still too attached to this one.

Currently? Nothing. My car died Monday. :frowning:

It was a 1993 Subaru Legacy. 4-cyl. 2.3 L, 5-speed. It was a gold exterior, and a tan interior. I hated that piece of crap (actually, it was fairly reliable.)

Right now I am borrowing my dad’s 2000 Ford Ranger, hunter green in color. I am looking for a new vehicle. He wants me to get another Subaru (we looked today at a 2000 Outback with 113,000 miles on it. ) I, personally, want a Jeep Wrangler. But if I tell him this he’ll yell something about me being impractical and throwing my money away. But it IS my car that I am paying for and can get whatever I want.

My ultimate dream car is a 1983 DMC DeLorean. I’d do a hover conversion on it, and get a Mr. Fushion. No Flux Capictor, though, that damn thing just causes trouble. :stuck_out_tongue:

2004 BMW 540i
Considering all-wheel drive sedan. Maybe A6, or E320 4Matic.
