Not much to say. I don’t do ice hockey. Daughter played varsity field hockey and was captain of her team!
In the States, hockey means ice hockey and field must be specified. In the rest of the world, it’s the opposite (except maybe Canada?).
Nice day today. Better one tomorrow.
We’re a little late on dinner: today is our daughter’s 11th birthday, so tacos are on the menu. The tacos will be followed by cake: a wonderful mint chocolate chip custard cake. Yummo.
I’m amazed that Spain is still in the World Cup. I mean, must be, cos I went to gas up the car and every single newspaper had “SPAIN-PORTUGAL TODAY!” in huge letters.
We’re getting The Other Team today. Our team is going to be supervising another team, we’ve designed a bunch of stuff that’s general for all parts of the project and these guys have to “implement” it in the first part, but they have to ask for permission (or grovel in an acceptable fashion… where did I put that latex dress now…) before changing anything.
I’ve updated my website! Yay! Admittedly it has no actually content quite yet (except for my portfolio, which I’m not counting), but it will as soon as I get the index pages made for those sections. Which may be tomorrow.
I would like to figure out a way to put my bladder on snooze mode. Because I could have slept for 2 more hours.
Aren’t you all glad that I shared this bit of information?
I’ve got one lunch today in Woooooooster. Then it’s a scenic ride across the Lincoln Highway and, most likely, lunch at one of my favorite restaurants on my way to Canton because I’ve got to pick up some prescriptions at the Sam’s Club there. Should be a nice afternoon. Oh, yes, then it’s orientation :dubious: for a mid-week farmer’s market that I’ll be doing starting next month.
Rosie who knows why our brains will do that to us in our sleep sometimes. Glad to hear your brother’s surgery successful. Good healin’ thoughts and prayers headed his way.
After a 2 month reprieve, the transmission in the Foomobile is dying. Now I’m trying to decide if I rebuild, replace tranny, or replace car. The tab for all 3 is going to be about the same, ± $200. Change my name to Sammy Hager, because I can’t drive 55.
I’m here. About to go for more excitatin’ training. Non-Metallic Seal Materials Training. <snore>
Got a buddy here from work to come over tonight and help set up our network, since we’re woefully unedumacated about such things. All I gotta do is feed him dinner! Chicken Marsala, cheese tortellini with Alfredo sauce, and steamed speargrass. Strawberries for dessert!
I swear, I logged onto the computer to do something… I have no idea what it was, though, and I have to start cooking again in 5 minutes. Ah well, I’ll remember in about 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
It is meltingly hot in the office today. No, of course we don’t have aircon, this is England, remember? I am not looking forward to tonight either, the house has been closed up all day and I have to go to Fat Club so I won’t be home very early to get some air into the place. Bah.
Swampy, I am sure this is meant to be your weather and not mine. Take it away at once, please!
I’m an aunt. Yippee. I’m happy the little guy is here and all, but the picture I got this morning will probably be the last time I see him for 6 months. We haven’t seen any of them for the past 7 months: no problems with her pregnancy or anything, but they’re too busy hanging around her husband’s wealthy relatives to spend time with us. I feel sorry for the kids. My kids get to know their grandma, due to the fact we live with her and take care of her. Unless something changes, these kids will miss out.
Family. Meh.
On the contrary: we’re sharing it with you! Aren’t we nice?
Friday we leave, drive to spend the night in Cleveland. Saturday, continue on the PA Turnpike, stop to visit an old HS friend, then on to the Philly airport to pick up the Kid and the future SIL (need to find a good name for him), then on to Cape May where we’re staying in a house for the week with mom, sis, her worthless husband, and their kids.
Then on the 10th, drive home with mom and the Kid, again laying over in Cleveland.
So, if I’m a little scarce in between, that’s where I am, sitting on the beach, covered in oil, reading and not caring about the world.
