Thank you, webhead.
52 is Orange juice NOW!!!
Our Overload loves beer bottle caps and the pen needle covers. Who needs cat toys?
Even I have to agree -------- although I didn’t bother to click the link until you recommended it. <ducks>
I would link to a video of “Blame Canada” here but I’ve had a long day.
But I’m always this late. Oh ---- you mean that other sweetie. I should have realized that; I never care what’s for dinner.
I worked. Got to hear a dude tell my pharmacy Tech about his wife’s C-Section* Days like this are why I love my job. And I’ve had glasses since I was 7. I’m near sighed in the right eye, and far sighted in the left. With a touch of nystagmus.
“This the tree where they hung Great Uncle Ed, for things too terrible to discuss even today…”
First time I got to see the back of your skull.
Four years ago, when I was working for FCD, the guy in the cube next to mine would not shut up about his and his wife’s adventures in infertility. He wasn’t talking to me, but in a cube farm, that really doesn’t matter. I let my sweetie (not my *other *sweetie ) explain to him what was and wasn’t appropriate office conversation.
Almost as bad as the coworker years ago who brought in photos of his wife giving birth - very graphic photos, I understand, tho I had no intention of looking. I guess these are the same sorts of guys who think the world is fascinated with their bowel habits and sexual kinks. I think the web is an amazing invention (thanks, Al Gore!!) but somehow, the concept of keeping certain things to one’s self seems to have vanished. Even on the Dope!
Moving on - I stopped for gas this morning, and the line inside the WaWa was insanely long! But I got here to a pile of stuff on my desk and a couple of emails from the 2 most senior engineers in our group. Good timing - I had just about run out of work. This guarantees me a busy day. Huzzah!
Happy Thursday!
Afternoon, mumpers! It’s a very merry day here, I think we’re all giddy with excitement now that exams have started. For some reason, it does tend to send people a bit strange. I’m still trying to finalise some of the exams for our special students so this morning I was skulking around some of the rooms we’re using and moving bits of furniture from place to place so that each room has a proper desk and chair in it. Can’t have our special snowflakes using those daft conference chairs with the fold-out tablet bit, can we? That would never do!
Fortunately I don’t have co-irkers who choose to share their childbirth stories or photos. The worst I get is the woman with scoliosis who likes to show us her x-rays and scans every time she has one.
In other news, our Geology Museum has been shortlisted for an award so there are lots of excited people waiting for the results of that one. I’ve been to the museum, one of my friends works over there so I occasionally nip over for a natter and a cup of tea…and a look around, of course.
Thanks, all.
Last night, instead of having multiple dreams, I had one long dystopian nightmare. Oof.
Much to do today.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 71 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. I am cook du jour so we’re havin’ fried chikin, okra, butterbeans, and rice ‘n gravy for N.O.L. Youngest niece is comin’ over to eat before she goes to irk and is bringin’ her dawgs to visit with sis and I while she’s at irk. Thus I get to play with my great niece and great nephew today.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Purtification must also commence at some point I suppose.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
I believe that is connected with the biological imperative that every parent believes their child to be the best, brightest, most beautiful and most important being that ever drew breath. Everyone will enjoy every aspect of this fascinating child
**flytrap **- those parents really are annoying. Especially to those of us who have exceptionally bright, beautiful, and talented children!
This morning is dragging. Glad it’s my Firday.
Stayed in bed late…I think I am beginning to get the hand of this retirement thing.
Rain predicted for today but 64F heading for a high of…65F.
Sustenance is now required.
**FCD **called me a bit ago - he’s got to go to San Antonio next week - possibly for 2 weeks. Apparently they need an engineer to kick butt and take names on a project that’s in trouble. He hopes to have more details this evening so we can plan accordingly.
Always something.
Oh, wait - 2 weeks without adult supervision?!?!?!??!
2 weeks is a long trip. I hope they are very nice to FCD.
Hubby comes home today. MiL comes to visit tomorrow. (sobs)
I meant to pick things up a bit. Then I decided I would wait until everyone was here and could help out. I’m a giver.
My daughter won the school spelling bee. Now she goes to the district one. She is torn between being excited and being worried about being on stage. I am proud of her. Because, OF COURSE, she is beautiful, smart, AND talented.
Happy Thorsday!
Yay for Beamette!! It’s nice to know that some in the younger generation can still spell!
Lunch break. When I was doing some fixes on a pile of drawings, I noticed that some parts were missing from another drawing. THIRTY-THREE to be exact! They’re labels for circuit breakers, so not complicated parts, but they’re all part of one drawing, and that drawing was 16 sheets long before I discovered these were missing.
it’s gonna be a long afternoon… Especially if I have to do the .dxf files for all of them. ugh.
Even MamaPlant?
Way to go beamette! I don’t think Swamster ever won one of those, with all of his alternate ‘spelings’.
Back from the range, got my gun clean, and am now getting ready for work. Amerika – vat a country!
What was the winning word for Beamette?
Took my shoe to the local shoe repair guy (there’s only one in town). He fixed the rivet and instead of wanting payment, asked for a donation to the local anipal shelter box on the counter. Same shelter I got my kitty from, so I popped in $5. I like businesses that have a heart.
You’ve only got one gun? You slacker!
It’s sunny again today. In a little while I think I’ll break out the lawnmower. But first I’ll need to brekkify and de-poopify the back yard. In that order.
Speaking of poop, the cow-irker conversations I always hated overhearing dealt with their newborne’s bowel habits. Sersly?
What does it mean, “anipal”? :dubious:
