Rabbit fencing for a garden?

I’m thinking at least 2’ above ground and maybe 6" deep? Probably a coated 1" grid type of fencing. Will this work? I think the garden will be 15’ x 20’. Ground is fairly soft, so hopefully shallow trenching won’t be too hard.

I saw this title, and the thought that first popped into my head was some somebody creating a display in a garden using little decorative statues of anthropomorphic rabbits swordfighting.

Which would be pretty cute, actually. And a good pun.
