MMP: Ask CP

Dear Sleepy,

I’m an Advice Consultant, not a waiter at Waffle House.

Don’t forget to tip,

CP

Dear Prof,

Go for the satellite array.
Mr. Kent isn’t so nice with that X-ray vision, just ask my Sister.

See you in the Clarke Belt,

CP

Uggy Blurf.
The jobcentre forgot to process my signing on last friday, hence the payment that should be in my account is not. This is the week of ALL the bills. I’m just glad I checked my bank balance today; I would have been in real trouble if I hadn’t noticed.
Supposedly they’ll phone me back- we shall see. I can always go round and shout at them if needs be.

Happy Hump Day!

It is hump day, right?

Total blurfy blurfitude today.

I need to wake up and in a hurry.

I woke up @2, then again at 7, only at 7 I thought it was 8 and tried to stay up to log in to work at 9. Then I realized I could go back to sleep and totally zonked out and slept through the alarm, logged in late and then got an email asking me to take an important call at 11.

I need to be awake, alert and on my game in less than 30 minutes and I still have a frog in my throat and my eyes feel heavy.
You’d think the panic would get the adrenaline flowing and wake me up.

I haz an irky blurf.

I sent my provisional timetables out and have already had 15 amendments requested. Some are fairly straightforward - a couple of tutors have things scheduled in weeks 36-38 but don’t need those weeks, and a couple more haven’t got scheduling in those weeks and do need them. Minor stuff like that I can accommodate.

My immediate problem is that two modules in particular apparently cannot be taught at the same time since students may wish to take both. The two module leads have both specifically said no teaching before 10am and definitely not on Mondays or Fridays. Since these are block-timetabled modules they can only go in certain places…9-11am on a Wednesday, 9-10am on Thursday or 9-10am on Friday. I predict some major tantrums when they are told this!

If you hear reports of wailing and gnashing of teeth over Edgbaston, you’ll know who’s responsible.

BooFae the wailin’ and gnashin’ of teeth are nuttin’. I don’t panic until sackcloth is donned, garments are rent and ashes are heaped on haids.

Happy fun time notification of increased hours has been accomplished. Ten hours per week for those who cooperate and five hours per week for those who don’t. What? I can be nice when I want to be nice!

gotti how many Sri Lankan spiders do we need? Jim and flytrap need to know the exact number to roundup.

Can I get a few spares?
I likes spiders- half the ones living in the house are named, and I’ll occasionally swat flies for their dinner, if they look hungry.

Nuts giant Sri Lankan Spiders look like they might swat and eat you for dinner.

That is why one must keep them in a good mood.

I’M DONE PLANTING!!! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon> Well, at least for this round. The front garden now has more lilies, iris (2 varieties) double mock almonds, Spirea, and I put some forget-me-nots and mondo grass around the mailbox. I had 5 clumps of violets that I put at the top of the side hill, and 4 more clumps of forget-me-nots that went around my roses. Oh, and some random bulbs on the front hill. I think they’re crocus.

The bottom line is that everything I brought from my mom’s has been planted. I’m going back next Thursday for more. That’ll give my back a chance to recover, right?

Now I need to find something lunch like. And I should thaw something for supper - maybe sketties??

Hey Willy, it’s chilly outside.

UGH!
This morning is sucky.

I overslept, the Hounds From Hell have been barking all morning, I’m blurfy, barely made it to the important call because Sah-dog went out and didn’t want to come back in. I can’t leave him out and go back to work because the HFH may not notice he is out and will let her Nasty Hounds From Hell out with him.
I have to go walk hell-pup in a bit and I have to sit for piddle-pup for the next two days.

The day has to get better, right?

Perhaps you would in interested in purchasing a bridge in Brooklyn?

Aaargh

Blurf

Can this week get any worse?

Sorry just venting.

Just tell me how many spiders I need, I am ready to go collect them.

Jim

So I can live in a cardboard box under it?

Well, the box is extra.

Does the box come with a Sri Lankan spider?

No foolin’. I got my tax return yesterday and celebrated by ordering the last three Digger books. I did that even though I have the whole thing (including all the book extras) on PDF. I got the PDF and a lot of other electronic reading material when I signed up as a subscribing member of the con that sponsored last year’s Hugo awards.

Let me take a moment to recommend subscribing to whichever con is sponsoring the Hugo in any given year. Last year it cost fifty bucks and for that money you got a password to download everything that was nominated in every category, so that you could compare them. That was five novels, five graphic novels, and at least five short stories, novelettes, novellas, fanzines, prozines, . . . I can never remember all the categories. It was a great deal. Reading heaven.

In other good news, I discovered that the Taco Bell on the way to work has their lunch menu available for breakfast. Screw the breakfast burritos, yay burrito supreme.

A dollar two ninety eight per spider, more if you want them to have all their legs.

In other news, woohoo! I got my tax refund & am also expecting monstrous overtime check.
(Of course the refund has already been allocated & the OT has been spent about 3 or 4 different ways even though I only get it once) :frowning:
