MMP - Peep hunts and other interesting events

In which case, she’s either thrilled to death you consider her a cutie, disturbed that you told everyone she is when she thinks you’re not, or wants to discuss that whole “hamfisted” thing… :stuck_out_tongue:

Today is review day. Not mine, my staff’s. Some are leaving happy, some are leaving peeved, none should be leaving surprised, but one may be leaving altogether.

Which is OK with me.

My review consisted of my boss showing me a letter he wrote the superintendent telling him my performance this year has far exceeded expectations, thanking me for my service and requesting the standard increase for me for next year along with my pro-forma (?) share of unused Admin compensation. That’s basically where they take what was budgeted for admin salaries this year, subtract what was actually paid out, and divid the difference among those whose superiors request they get in the pool. Last year, that was an nice bump for me, this year probably as well since we had three principals or assiatants anadministrator and a department head all leave during the year, and their positions filled with interims.

YAY! Drinks on me!

Um…we cancelled the dumpster ($500+) and are removing the old cabinets ourselves ($300+). There’s a grand right there.

Still, the whole thing should come in under $10,000, which was my goal.

I am just in shock, that’s all.

And we get 5 drawers free and our sink base free! AND a $500 gift card to _____(can I name stores here?)
Off to garden some more-dratted things won’t stop growing!

OOOOOOOOH Sean, you better hope your hygienist ain’t reading the dope! If she is, I’m sure she’s thinking about how she’ll use that  special tool  to clean your teeth the next time you go in.

Rigs just think how purty your kitchen is gonna be. That should make you feel better. Think of all the gourmet delights you’ll be in the mood to whip up because you have a bright, shiny new kitchen. Think how you’ll be able to channel your inner Betty Crocker in your beautiful new kitchen. Almost makes ya want to run out and buy a starched apron and a string of pearls don’t it? Why you’ll be June Cleaver, Margaret Anderson and Aunt Bea all rolled into one!

FCM since you’re home early, gonna get the rest of that grass mown (mowed?)? :stuck_out_tongue:

I always wanted to be Alice. But I would have dumped that Sam the butcher in a hearbeat…I was actually thinking of asking our own Lisslar to come live in my kitchen–she could whip up stuff and I might even do her dishes, once a week.
I prefer “mown”.

It’s raining - damn the luck.

Then you can go remodel another room instead. What? You got a whole afternoon off, slacker! :stuck_out_tongue:

Or surf the net and give Bernie butt skritches all afternoon. Either one’s good.

Rigs I agree. Alice wasted many good opportunities trying to snag Sam. All he really cared about was his bowling league.

I hope some of that drifts south. I’d really rather have Mother Nature water my new grass seed, instead of me.

And the Dental Tech, who is a very talented and competent individual, a lovely girl who in no way looks as old as she says she is, and who also has a great sense of humor, just wanted to schedule a follow-up because my teeth are still too sensitive to cold after the surgery I had last month.

I can hedge my bets with the best of them.

Holy crap - I just found the listing for a house around the corner from us that just went on the market. For $699,900!!! Here’s the listing. That is way too much house for this neighborhood! Most houses here are worth maybe half what they’re asking, and most are smaller and plainer - like my place.

My MIL once said, and she’s right, you’re better off being the cheapest house in a great neighborhood than the nicest house in a lesser one. Because this is most definitely not a $700K neighborhood.

On the other hand, whoever buys it gets me as a neighbor - there’s the bargain!!

Their decorating style is a little fussy for me.

(That’s a kind way of saying it.)

Think they’ll knock off a couple hundred thou for that?

ha ha welby - you so funny :stuck_out_tongue:

scout, “fussy” is a kinder word than I thought of…

That’s a hefty price for a house with zero square footage. Well, on the ad thingy it said “0” square feet! It would probably go for 300k at the most here, and that would be if it was in a real ritzy neighborhood.

Well, if it were next door to me, then it’d easily go for 500-600k cause then it’d be in a f-aaaaaa-bu-lous neighborhood.

Actually, it’s a bit over 4100 sq ft - I looked up its tax records. The place sold for $72,950 when it was built in 1977, although chances are it’s been added to since then…

mmm, Fussy is a kind way of putting it. Always wanted to live in a baby blue house, yes I did!

It’s been such a good day here, all the reviews, even the bad ones went amazingly well. Makes me wonder if I just soft-pedeled too much. Still, there’s only so many ways you can take a phrase like “…needs to exercise better discretion during student consultations…” or “…is expected to increase work load and not require the amount of outside resources currently being devoted to keeping her work current…”

Ah, maybe there’s an explosive’s guy under my car right now, who can tell?

Tomorrow I’m going to something called “Blue and Gold Day” in South Bend. This hilarious considering that I am the anti-Notre Dame fan. My freind caught me in a weakened moment and got me to commit. He’s talked me out of buying and wearing a USC football jersey though. Something about the quality of ER care in Indiana…

Anyway, this is the kick-off of spring football, am I right? All I know is I have to be up early on a Saturday, drive to South Bend, tailgate, watch a football game at which I don’t even have the option of rooting AGAINST Notre Dame, then ride home. All the time surrounded by rabid ND fans. Help me…

College football? In April? Well, have a nice trip anyway.

And a good weekend to all MMPers. See you Monday.

Well, went to the cardiologist yesterday and he took me off 3 of my meds. Two that he had prescribed; Toprol and Lisinopril, and one my primary had me on- Gemfibrozil. (possible misspellings there). It’s a little soon to tell, but my ankle and foot feel a little less swollen and painful already.

Nothing exciting going on here. My life is so boring it would put Ed Sullivan to sleep (if he wasn’t already dead.)

If anything interesting ever happens to me again I’ll let ya know.

Later.

That house has a great yard. And it looks like most of the decorating is cosmetic.

Yea gods, taste is an odd thing…

I drained the pond AGAIN, because that torrential downpour put hundreds of worms into the pond–the smell was godawful. It’s a 100 gallon pond, more like a puddle, really. Nasty.

Insurance guy is coming next week to assess the water damage to the dining room. Now that it’s dried out–it’s a wreck. The wallpaper is peeling, the paint is peeling, the plaster is cracked and flaking off…took the rug to be drycleaned. There is something about wet wool. Blech.
Off to take #2 son to a Bday party. Gorgeous day here. Hafta work this weekend (boo hiss).

Who’s doing Monday? I volunteer Mika --for more bits about India.

:o I’d love to. But it’s all up to swampy, 'cause he’s the boss.

Pffft - swampy’s not the boss here. He might be a a big shot at his office, but here he’s just a geezer, regardless of his faaaabulousness.

And since I’m nice, dammit, I think you should go ahead, Mika, and take the reins on Monday. Mostly because I was gonna go ahead and do it if no one else stepped up. So you got it!

Ok, **Mom **says it’s Ok so I’m in! Thanks, Mom! :stuck_out_tongue: to Swampy!
