I don’t know if I’m going to come now, seeing as I didn’t plan on getting to there from Montreal. Not having a car isn’t a good thing sometimes.
Lockz, dude, there’s still space in the minivan!
And p.s., you can still crash here.
scott, I just sent an e-mail off to him, so hopefully we’ll know soon.
Eonwe won’t be around for the plans on Sunday, so I might need a ride to any festivities on that day. I’m small… I fit in overhead compartments… heh.
Sunday should be no problem since all activities are likely to occur in town.
What? Nobody wants to ride with me? I swear any rumors you’ve heard about me driving are completely false.
JeffB: LaurAnge, New & Improved Scott, and Lockz will need a ride, if they’re coming…
clayton_e: If Eonwe’s not coming back into town after the sugaring off, I’m sure you can be squeezed into one of the cars. As detop said, the Sunday (and Saturday evening) stuff will be downtown, so no need to worry about transportation. You can still crash here if you want.
Booooooo. I can’t make it to this one
I wish I could, but I have some company coming up that weekend. (don’t tell them about the ‘booooooing’.)
I look forward to the pictures though.
Thanks Scott, I’ll probably be at your place, if that’s k.
No problem, clay. There’s lots of space in the living room, and we have extra mattresses from Jeremy’s old place. And no more Bunny to chew stuff up and pee everywhere.
OK…
Stephi and I are coming for sure for sure now
We will be staying at the Courtyard Marriott downtown, and are arrivign Fri night at 6pm (train station). Anyhoo, after Indian food for dinner, those that wanted to do something on Friday, let me know. The hotel is reserved under my name (see email and take a wild stab at it ) and you can call us there or email beforehand.
This should be a blast, though I am not sure how sugary SugarDope will be… however it is supposed to go from -20 to +10 next week…
What no one crying out thanks for making their dreams come true by having us attend?
I am shocked I say! Shocked!
CuriousCanuck: Chill, dude. It’s all about me. (You’ll understand once you see me in my tiara.)
What’s this about Indian food? Is this a you-and-Stephi thing?
I’m up for doing something Friday, and I’m sure detop and the Montreal crew will be as well. Did you have anything in mind?
I still have to think of a resto for a late & light dinner Saturday, and I’m looking into dim sum places for Sunday.
As for meeting up Saturday before driving off to the sugar shack, maybe we could gather in front of the hotel where JeffB will be staying. That way detop and/or his friend with the minivan can clarify directions.
detop, around when should we leave town to be there in time for our 2:30 reservation?
I’ll translate the directions to the sugar shack tomorrow and post them here.
Stay tuned.
Translate? Bah… lave 'em in francais.
(Insert la cedille at will)
Anyhoo… I have no real suggestions for Friday night… I wasn’t the one who asked I figured someone had an idea… Something not too far from home would be good though… A walk around downtown to sample various martinis or perhaps there is a good Irish band playing? (Going to Montreal to listen to Irish music… what am I thinking???
)
And a Tiara, eh? well I have a dinosaur!
You will FEAR my tiara. And Double-Amputee Wonder Woman Doll®.
If you want Irish music, there’s the Old Dublin. I think Hurley’s Irish Pub (on either Crescent or Bishop, I can’t remember) might have music as well. We had a mini-Dope there last summer. We often hit Grumpy’s as well. I’ll defer to detop here, as he’s a more happenin’ kind of guy.
And I have to translate the directions for our American friends.
“I hate those bastards.”
I think that one-ish should be ideal (not too early, not too late), anyway, I was assured that if we show up early they would have no problem to feed us.
As for Friday night, maybe we should meet at the Drugstore (they seems to always have room available) and then decide from there, maybe a descente en masse to a Bishop or Crescent street bar ?
I see scott, weird minds think alike
ahh… the Drugstore. I like the sounds of that already…
And you WILL fear my dino. He has teeth and shifty eyes.
Should we tell him?
Anyway, yeah, the hotel where JeffB is staying is pretty central, if it’s the one I’m thinking of (Guy & René-Lévesque).
detop, are there any sugar shack activities included, or just the meal?
And does anyone know of a good place for dim sum? [confession]I’ve only ever had dim sum at NYC Megadope.[/confession]
If it is anything like The Peel Pub, I am prepared
