So, we’re two weeks away. detop has taken care of the reservations at the Cabane à sucre Hermine (English link) for Saturday, March 22, at 2:30 PM. detop or I can translate the directions from the Hermine site and post them here. (Are we going for a sleigh ride or anything?)
I’ll be making reservations for a late, light dinner for Saturday night, somewhere in downtown Montreal. (Suggestions welcome.) Please check in so I can get an idea of how many we’ll be for dinner. (I think we’ll be around 15.)
Swiddles suggested dim sum on Sunday. For those sticking around town, that would be cool.
Anyone who needs a place to crash is welcome to stay at the Pad of Evil®. I have space for four people max.
If anyone’s going to be in town Friday night, we can get together for drinks or whatever.

I’m probably booking a hotel somewhere between here and the meeting-place–it’s a 7-hour drive at least–so probably somewhere in New York state. Meeting in an Indian restaurant in Montreal sounds good if I can make it there, though I’m not sure if I can.
I’ll be staying downtown at the Maritime Plaza Hotel. I get in late Friday night, so I’ll pass on any Friday activities. I have a vehicle, and I’m happy to drive people from downtown to the restaurant. I’m in for Saturday night (assuming I’ve recovered from the sugar overdose). Dim Sum on Sunday gets a big vote YES from me.
Woot! I have just bought 2 room nights from my company, for $100.00 each! (Which means I am now looking for someone to split the cost of the hotel room.) It’ll be in either the Hilton or Holiday Inn Select in Chinatown, so at least it’s somewhere nice.
If there are people from out of town who will be in early enough Friday evening, we could get together and do something… Who’ll be around? Please post.
Also, I haven’t heard from clayton_e, Lockz, Elenfair, ladydisco, CuriousCanuck, Swiddles, or any of the Montreal Dopers (save detop) for that matter!!!
Sorry, didn’t notice the meeting here. Somehow I forgot about this! I’m going to look at bus times tonight, and let everyone know if I’m coming down Friday night or Saturday morning.
What time are you going up? I found out I have to work Saturday morning until noon in Plattsburgh, maybe I could get a ride with you if you’ll be going up after that. If not, its k, I’ll be able to get up there.
It’s probably a good idea if everyone without a car could make arrangements for a ride with someone coming by car… jeremy evil, matt_mcl and I have reserved minivan space with detop and friend. JeffB is coming by car…
It would be a lot easier if an Ottadoper were to come by car…
