Montreal Sugardope II : March 12 to 14

JeffB, clay can’t come up with you Friday? Why doesn’t Eonwe pick him up on his way Saturday morning? (That’s assuming Eonwe doesn’t bail and does indeed come into town.)

Otherwise it just seems so complicated. But hey… I’m not among those with vehicles.

Guillaume and I have space for two other people from or leaving from Montreal.

Well. As many of you may know, Daerlyn’s guy and my guy work at the same place. For various and sundry reasons, among them the fact that Guillaume is off to come up with us, New & Improved Scott is now working from 3:30 pm - midnight Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Sigh. The elusive Scott will not be attending anything.

It’s not entirely his fault. Guillaume has been stuck with opening on Sunday, which he hates and despises.

But anyways.

My last day of classes before spring break is that Friday, so I should be fine for going up Friday night, if that fits Jeff’s schedule.

99% of the time Scott opens on Saturdays and Sundays. He likes it. I was expecting that to be his schedule and that he’d join us for the dinners. Oh well.

As for Lola and I our schedules are a little odd. So here is the gist of it:

*Friday: Both Lola and I are there (ITS HER BIRTHDAY!!!) But for afterhours fun I will not be there because I work at 7am

*Saturday: Morning - maybe just Lola
Evening - possible just me

*Sunday - daytime - just Lola
evening - both of us

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Hey, I may be in Montreal next weekend.

I’ll follow this thread to see what’s going on.

Hello.

I’ve been talking to matt_mcl, and he twisted my arm and slipped silly sauce in my cornflakes, and now I’m coming. I’ll be there for the whole thing.

I get to take the metro!

I’m appalled , matt_mcl using violence !

Welcome aboard BTW

Sorry to say this, folks, but it doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to make it. My thesis supervisor has set an absolute deadline of March 18, and I’m going to be struggling to make it.

You guys have fun now…like you need me to tell you that

Thanks! My excitement grows with each passing hour.

As soon as Saturday dinner is finalized, I’ll post info here, and detop can put together an official itinerary. I’m thinking we should do it later, as in 9 PM. Last year I think our Saturday dinner reservations were at 8 PM and by the time we got back from the cabane it was a bit tight.

Gourmet pizza places can be snotty wrt reservations. If that’s the case, does anyone have any objections to returning to either Reuben’s (Doperéal 2003) or Moe’s Deli & Bar (Doperéal 2002)? Both places were very accomodating, and have varied menus with lots of lighter fare (e.g. matt’s towering salad). Also very reasonable in terms of cost.

Stay tuned.

JeffB, what time do you and clay think you’ll be arriving in town?

Works for me.

Reuben’s can’t take us, and the phone # at Moe’s is out of service. (Maybe it closed down?) detop, email me so we can figure something out. scottevil@ca.inter.net.

detop and I are consulting to finalize Saturday dinner plans. Then we’ll post the full itinerary, but most of it is in the OP.

Saturday, I propose we do what we did last year, which is to meet outside JeffB’s hotel with cars. He’s staying at the Hyatt corner Jeanne-Mance and Ste-Catherine, which is near metro Place-des-Arts. I suggest we start assembling around 12:45 so that we can leave the city by 1:15 at the latest.

Don’t eat breakfast. And this year, we’re not going to be shy about asking for seconds. More bacon. More potatoes. More… everything.

Montreal forecast. Right now they’re saying sunny Saturday, with a high of 0[sup]o[/sup]C. Not bad.

OK I made the reservations for Saturday night 9 PM at Pizzedelic in Old Montreal, 39 Motre-Dame ouest, Place d’Armes metro, under the name Cecil Adams.

Oooops, make that Notre-Dame ouest :o
