Stupid little degree? Hah! My degree qualified me for my current employment. That certainly shows the degree counts for more than canine offal. And my university is one of the top schools in the world, which shows that the degree’s not stupid.

I think you’ll find that most people are not likely to pay much attention to advice offered by the Internet equivalent of a madman ranting on a street corner. I’m just sayin’.
I am not going to blame an entire group for this horrible act as I am sure there are many, maybe even a large majority of Muslims who don’t approve of this type of punishment. But in certain parts of the Muslim world, the opinion of the majority does not matter. Women do not have a say in political issues and men are afraid to speak out against such atrocities.
It is not that the entire group of people are responsible for this girl’s death, I believe it was up to a single cleric to make this decision, but I still feel absolutely sickened that there are people who don’t agree with the actions taken and don’t speak out against it. Or worse praise it even though they secretly find it abhorrent. But I guess when speaking against your own religion could be met with death, it is to be expected that these people feel no choice but to accept it.
I don’t know how common this type of thing occurs. It may not be common at all, but it is deeply disturbing that it happens at all.

If you read the Koran, it become obvious (as Robert Spencer also noticed) that either Mohammed was the most perfect human being ever to live, and Allah doted on him as if having a fetish with his human servant, or the Koran was written by an insane narcissist. We know that the latter is true, based on the evidence.
People who try equating the Catholic church or Christianity with Islam prove their ignorance the moment the open their mouths. And no, I am neither Christian nor Catholic, so don’t bother going there.
So, Freudian Slit, if this evil is a universal human trait, explain why we do not see mass terror committed or condoned by Christians, Lutherans, Mormons, Satanists, Catholics, Buddhists, etc? Explain why over 95% of all terror is committed in the name of Islam alone, while the tiny 5% remaining is committed by a combination of all other belief systems combined (there are 4,200 different religious faiths, including non-beliefs such as atheism, to put that into perspective). Note that there are more Christians than there are Muslims worldwide. Explain why such a high percentage of terrorism and violence emanates from Islam, yet almost none from Christianity. Explain how even a religion that worships THE DEVIL HIMSELF (ie Satanism) does not commit even a tiny fraction of a percentage of the amount of violence and destruction that Islam commits.
Spare me the crap about a few errant priests molesting little boys. And while we are on the subject, while I in no way condone priests fondling little boys, it is a massive lapse of common sense as well as human decency to morally equate a handful of school kids being molested with the mass murder of thousands of innocent people and the catastrophic loss of health suffered by tens of thousands more.
