I never claimed to be pretty. And I don’t know why some people on here flirt with me. Maybe, it’s because I’m one of those ugly girls with a great personality, that makes you not notice how hideous she is.

There’s not a single person who has posted their pic that I would consider ugly.

Picture threads used to be fun. Hell, I started the very first one and we had a blast. But that was before we had places like the one in the link. I imagine that’s the reason not many people have posted to this thread. Who wants to be reminded of High School?

Looks ain’t everything, darlin’. Some of the most interesting, attractive, and downright sexy women I know aren’t exactly FHM material. Don’t sell yourself short…not on this board. We’re supposed to be beyond that trivial caa-caa. Humor and intelligence goes pretty damned far around these parts…just one of the reasons I keep hangin’ around…

Honey, I went there and read all of that shit. And it’s complete and utter bull. A whole bunch of people who are too cowardly to use their own names post cruel stuff about other people because it makes them feel better about themselves. It’s a child-like mentality. And I’m going to stop here because I’m not going to take this into the pit.

It took me some time to realize they may have insulted you.

Would it make you feel better to know once they ripped me apart pretty well, too? No, I’m not going to honor them by writing a single thing they said. **Tuckerfan ** had the best reaction to it. If he comes here, he can tell you what he did, but he certainly is a gentleman who knows how to roll with the punches.

Don’t worry about them, dear. The nice people are here, they like other nice people, and the rest can go to hell or hide in their little holes.

Picture threads are still fun! I don’t care much for the flirting (…and now someone will ask me how I’m doing ;)…), but I like being able to put faces with some of the names that I’ve been seeing for almost a year. 310 names, to be precise.

But you know, even if someone were to come in this thread un-anonymously and call me fat or ugly (or fat and ugly) right to my virtual face, I truly wouldn’t care (…and now someone will call me fat and ugly :D…). And neither should you! It only turns into high school if you let it. Seriously. Don’t even acknowledge it, let alone go looking for it (which you seem to have done; apologies if I’m wrong). You can’t control the behaviour of others, you can only control your response to it. Know what I mean?

(On preview, I don’t get the reason behind asking for the link to be removed, either. I’m not against it or anything, but what does it really matter whether those anonymous folks get more attention?)

The first time I saw one of these picture threads, I saved the pictures to a special “Dopers” folder (on my desktop at home) for future reference. They came in so handy while participating in threads that I started saving pictures from profiles and other threads, too: I just took a moment to look at the folder properties, and I have 308 pictures! :eek: I had no idea I had that many! They really do come in handy, though (in fact I wish I had them at work and on my laptop).

I looked through them when the recent “Doper crush” thread got started, but decided that I had waaaay too many crushes to bother posting there.

Dunno about the cockroaches, but I know for a fact there’s ants and rattlesnakes, so maybe that’d be more apt (although I can’t see how they’d get much play out of it:“Come to the Rattlesnake Valley Mall!”)

Nope. In fact, after a long time of lurking, it was Johnny L.A.'s thread about deserts (here) that got me to sign up. I just had to pipe up about the AV (I have a love/hate relationship with this, er, place).
