Shouldn’t this be in IMHO? Anyways. I jsut wanted to say that until just now, I have never even opened ( :eek: ) the LOTR thread. And I just now only read the last two posts.
Odd thing about the a thread. I was here when it happened, yet I don’t remember it at all. I mgiht have even posted in it (though I don’t think so) but for some reason there is no memory in my mind of the 107 page thread.
I think there’s a factual answer, based on the number of replies.

I am too lazy to search for it but I would think that the horror of blimps would be a contender.

The Horror of Blimps. Certainly one of my favorites. Since it is frequently referenced by people, it is obviously very popular.
I vaguely recall a lengthy GQ thread about shooting a goat (or some kind of animal) out of a cannon. It was quite long for GQ.
Oh, and who can forget the 1920s style death ray thread. I am not lazy enough to find that. But I am too drunk.
Based purely on number of hits, I am willing to bet that the LOTR thread is the all time winner… it got /.'d, after all.
