Hi, all! I am soooo tired. I got to bed late, then was up early to spend time with my sister.–my very anxious sister. All the tough stuff she’s been through has made her so anxious about things like changed flights that she kind of freezes and needs help sorting things. Her flight from here was delayed twice, and she was worried about making the connecting flight home because she has to change terminals, and she’ll “only” have 45-60 minutes. So I ordered a wheelchair for her because a) she’s 3 months out from knee surgery and still walks slowly and 2) she can let someone else get her to her gate, relieving her anxiety. Her birthday hometown had a tornado warning last night and a watch today, but she got home safe and sound. Whew.
As for the contacts, the doc won’t budge. I called today to find out if I’d get a refund if the optometrist can’t fit me, and the secretary said, puzzled, “There’s no such thing as not getting fitted. EVERYBODY gets fitted.”

Hello, my name is Nellie. I’ve had 13 eye surgeries and have complex corneas. Nobody has been able to fit me with a rigid lens. The secretary said she’d check and let me know.
I had PT today and confessed that I didn’t do my homework. See, my dog ate my paper…No, wait, I don’t have a dog. Or paper. I did do some of the exercises every day, but not as many. Now that I’m not entertaining, I can get into a routine.
hippie, very impressive!
Oopsie, I paid out of pocket for the Shingrex vaccine when I was 55, BUT it was because my docs were afraid with my lupus, shingles would be very bad. AIUI, anything that weakens your immune system–depression, stress, exhaustion, cancer, age–ups your odds of getting shingles, and it’s a nightmare experience, I’ve heard. Your doc is playing the odds: if you’re under 50 and have a healthy immune system, low stress, etc., you probably won’t get this hellish disease. If you’re OK with those odds, why not wait? (I’m not a nurse. When in doubt, defer to Nurse Boo.)
I had more responses, but I keep dozing off. More tomorrow.
