Mrs Hudson's teatime gathering - Mafia penut gallery [No Spoilers]

Ah. That makes sense.

I would agree with Inner , scums ok with a tex cat lynch, and also lying low waiting to see what sherlock knows. Or did i miss the results of yesterdays investigation or what ever it is that sherlock can do.

Yeah it’s pretty dead discussion-wise. All the “cases” feel pretty lame to me. Probably time for Sherlock to throw some meat out there for the dogs to gnaw on.

By the way, it’s so hard for me not to think Idle is scum. I know I’ve seen him do this in other games, but anytime any suspicions is leveled at him, he gets REALLY dramatic and DEFENSIVE! It really pings me when he does that.

I absolutely disagree with DiggitCamara. I don’t feel it is common at all – certainly not to the extent of any ‘neck sticking outing.’ Scum behave much more subtly. Astral is jumping up and down and calling out everyone. She is not making friends. She’s making enemies. If she turns up Scum, I’ll be super surprised.

I’ve been lynched for ‘defending town’ before. It makes no sense. When cases are bad, you point it out! If lynch defenders becomes policy, then all meaningful talk will cease.

Also, Diggit is assuming TexCat is Town. He shouldn’t know that!
If TexCat were to turn up scum would he change his mind about Astral? I bet not.

TexCats claim seems pretty legit (assuming no counter claim). And if her clue is true that probably means Pizza is probably telling the truth about being a mason as well.

I completely missed where Pizza claimed mason. Did that really happen?

It was buried in one of his long winded posts at the beginning of the day so it was easy to miss:

Oh. We already dismissed that as Pizza rantings. Pizza’s assertion relies on trusting clues as having been reported faithfully. There is no way to verify that Pizza and/or his counterpart are reporting their clue faithfully, so there is no mechanism by which Pizza or his counterpart can be confirmed as Town. Either one could lie.

Pizza, as usual, is full of it.

As is often the case, I’m not seeing eye-to-eye with Idle Thoughts. His tirade on TexCat is riddled with assumption and privileged information.

  • I can see readily apparent reasons why TexCat claimed and posted all clues she knows about:
  1. She’s about to get lynched. Town LOVE to share!
  2. She doesn’t know that Idle Thought’s clue matches Johnny Bravo’s. For all she knows, the clue is unique and if she dies, Town will NEVER know the information in the clue.
  • His fixation on TexCat leaving out a word is bizarrely nitpicky. Storyteller has explicitly stated that all roles were written WITHOUT cut and paste. The missing word had better so important that it changes the meaning of the clue or Idle Thoughts ends up looking silly.

That said. IF TexCat and Idle Thoughts can handshake the clue AND TexCat turns out to be Town, that would confirm Idle Thoughts as Town in my mind. Reasoning:
The Bravo/Idle clue states that Scum don’t know that information. Giving that clue to ANY scum makes the clue FALSE. But Scum can only receive TRUE clues. Therefore the clue could only be given to Town.

Another thought about TexCat is the inconsistency regarding clues. On Day One she was very much against revealing clues. So much so that she voted for players who revealed clues. Yet now she reveals multiple clues.

I don’t feel she adequately explained the change in stance.

The late vote by Rysto is very strange. But possibly forgivable if the game was actually at a tie.

I don’t think any votes after 12PM should count. I can’t believe it finally actually happened, but if the rules permit gaming end-of-day, then subverting such gaming after the fact isn’t fair.

As I said in the thread, I’m not sure whether I would have counted that vote or not; I did describe the Day as extended, rather than extending the chance to put in actions. But the tiebreaker called for TexCat to die in any case, so I am saved having to make the decision at all

Woo! Huge internet high-five for Rysto for thinking to check back at what I said about my clue. He was spot on. I’ve spent all the time since Texcat’s false claim mentally willing someone, anyone, to go back and check.

Wow. Two godfathers in a row. Town is doing extraordinarily well. Chronos was a gift, but the TexCat lynch was fantastic for Town. That plus the close vote puts Town in a good position.

I wonder if Scum failed to submit a nightkill. TexCat was active, so it seems like someone should have done a kill. TexCat wouldn’t even need others approval since she could have done the kill herself.

The lack of data from DaphneBlack and the lack of dead DaphneBlack is confusing to me. The Chronos gift combined with uncounted Sherlock claim pretty much locks her as Town, but the actions don’t make sense to me on either side.
I would expect DaphneBlack to share information since she should be dead by now.
BUT
She’s not. WTF scum?!

I missed that entirely.

But now, how does Idle Thoughts fit into all this?

Now that she’s dead, I can say that TexCat screwed up another point, too. Her claim describes her power as working at Night, which doesn’t actually exist in this game.

She did almost pull it off, though, so kudos for that.

Okay. Now I’m hurting my brain.

Scum TexCat had access to the same Clue as Idle Thoughts, but the clue states that most scum do not have knowledge of the scum without access to the scum board. Since TexCat is scum and TexCat has knowledge of the scum without access to the scum board, that makes the clue FALSE. But Scum should not have a false clue. I guess that had to be one of the cover clues?
I’m not liking something here.

Like almost everything about the game, it’s actually not nearly as complicated as it seems; I’m happy to spoil anyone who wants spoiling on this or any point, by the way.

Spoil meeeeee.
