Mumping for Dollars (or writing an MMPOP when you have no ideas)

So, you say you have this MMP you need to write and no ideas with which to fill it? Well, for a limited time, you can own this fabulous MMP’s Greatest Hits collection. Now OPing your own MMP is as easy as picking sentences from each of any number of prewritten gems.

What? Hey. You’re the ones who [del]drafted[/del] volunteered me. I never even raised my hand. But now I am tired and I must get up before sunrise Monday, so here. Have at it.

Have a good week, all.

1st! W00T!

MMPOP?

MMP OP…

The Colts lost. Damn.

The Saints won. WHEE!

I never could find the ad that featured Oprah. :frowning:

I didn’t watch–I don’t care about football. I did see some of the ads online–they were ok, nothing to go WOW at or anything.

I’m getting ready to go to work tomorrow. I couldn’t fall asleep until after 0300 last night. I really hope tonight is better. TH leaves for Canada on Tuesday.

I have never understood how people have let the advertisers get them all excited over commercials. Like, hello, the people who make these things? All they want is your money. That’s it. It’s like the IRS convincing people that paying your taxes is FUN!

Perhaps that belongs in a minirant thread instead.

I can’t stand football, really, but am pleased at the outcome nonetheless because of having lived there and all. There must be some serious partying going on right about now!

Mostly boring ads. Did like the screaming chickens, cause that’s how I roll.

Weird, weird day!

I liked the Doritos dog anti-bark collar ad. Football is fun when hockey isn’t on.

Ok, so I’m a dork who has been watching The Sound of Music.

Soon I’ll be heading off to bed. We actually ended up with three lunches for tomorrow and I didn’t even have to do more shopping for the last minute addition. (Well, we might need some iceberg in the morning, but that’s fairly inconsequential considering that we added an additional 20 people.)

ETA: Unfortunately rosie now hasthis (warning: music video) stuck in my head. I suppose it will probably be with me all week.

I have a migraine. That’ll learn me to drink red wine on an empty stomach.

Sigh.

Going to bed. Hopefully I can sleep it off.

Oh yeah, it’s the Super Bowl. So easy to forget these things on the other side of the world.

It’s been a stressful time - shitload of work to do in the next three weeks, and Irish Boyfriend’s dad has been hospitalized so he just took off to visit - booking those tickets was a nightmare too long to get into here - plus we’re trying to plan our summer trip which is turning out to be a bit of a hassle in general, aaarrgggh.

<sticks head through snow>
Did Swampy see his shadow yet?
Well, why not? I’m almost tired of this stuff and I’m a frikkin Siberian fer Chrissakes!

Actually we’re doing OK. We still got heat and power, Muvver is safe and back at the Old Folks Home - she had to go to the hospital Thursday with a mild flu but we (and the docs) managed to get her moved back Friday just as all Hades (by Western PA standards) was starting. Bad news is Her Ladyship and I caught that flu and we didn’t get the mild form; we were sick as dogs from Friday night until today. In 34 years together this is the first time we ever both got sick at the same time. Since neither of us is packing I guess we did OK at it.

Now – about that next storm due Tuesday ---------- any Mumpers out there with enough hot air top drive it a little further south this time?
PS ------ LOVED the Puppy Bowl but glad the Saints won that other thingy

I finally got my almost-last grade from last semester (still missing one).

The good news are, it’s high. The dumb news are… I got marked down for “inappropriate spelling” and every single report I saw (I must have gone through about 25% of the pile before finding mine) had been marked down for not doing something which we were never told we had to do. The inappropriate spelling seems to be a specific structure which appeared several times, for example:

haven’t
it’s
don’t
[del]That’s right[/del] That appears to be correct: we were not supposed to use contractions. [del]I’ve[/del] I have made a note for next time.

We have some fantastic ads around at the moment, they’re all based on making us feel guilty for having a drink now and then, or making us feel bad for people who have a variety of diseases. My favourite one is about a guy who crashes his car and how he dies. It keeps going on about how the crash didn’t kill him, because once the car stopped he was still “travelling”. There is an early-evening version that’s rather tame but if you catch the late-night version, it’s got a load of internal shots of ruptured organs and stuff. It’s gross, but complusive viewing. So is the current one on the woman with motor neurone disease.

It is far better than most of the drivel they put out as “programming”, that’s for sure.

In other news, I got nuthin’.

Nava, that is the stupidest thing I’ve heard of in a long time. You should slap the teacher with a wet trout.

We’ve got a delayed start today - 10 AM - with the option for liberal leave. I’m taking leave. I’m doing really well on my project from hell and I’m not interested in driving on 238 this morning. So I’ll vacuum the carpets and clean the kitchen and maybe shovel the front walk a little. I’m also, finally, going to unpack my slab roller.

Amazingly, I’m not as achy as I’d expected this morning after all the shoveling I did yesterday. I did make liberal use of ibuprofen before and after - maybe that made the difference.

For now, I need to find some breakfast food. I finished the leftover pizza yesterday. I suppose I could have something traditional, like cereal. Ya think?

Happy Monday!!

morning folks - I’m up and caffeinating, having had some peanut butter toast already. nom nom nom!

I’m considering venturing out today, to the Safeway if it’s open - it’s only 1 block away, so hopefully that should be “doable.” Can’t get much, though - we’ll have to carry it home! It will also give me a chance to see what it’s like out there.

Nava, that is just ridiculous! I mean, seriously!! Glad that your grade was high nonetheless.

Hugs for Haze and anyone else who needs em. Hang in there folks … especially since it’s Monday. ::ducks::

Now, that wasn’t hard, was it, [del]Smokey[/del] rosie?

Wow, that’s dumb, Nava! There are certain styles where contractions would be frowned upon (and I’m pretty sure they’re becoming rarer and rarer), but if that hasn’t been covered and/or isn’t specified, then…well, dumb.

Hugs for Haze and for Irish Boyfriend and his family.

Hope you and the Mrs. are completely better soon, ruble. And I hope that the next snow is lighter or passes you by.

Totally missed the bowl. Mom told me the Saints had won (yay!) when we talked.

Lunch is made. Backpack is packed. Need to finish getting ready, then it’s…off to work!

Happy Monday, everyone!

GT

Nava: No contractions for You!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ on a cold south Jawja mornin’. We have frost even!

Nava that’s just stoopid to count off for stuff you [del]didn’t[/del] did not cover in class. Want to borrow my chitlins?

Ruble I did not (in case Nava’s teachers are lookin’) see my shadow last Tuesday. It rained here last Tuesday. So, I did not predict six more weeks of Winter. However, since Feb. 2nd is the midpoint of Winter and Winter is approximately 12 weeks long, I did predict we’d (take that Nava’s teachers!) have six more weeks of Winter. Glad Her Ladyship and you are feelin’ better and also that Muvver is recovered and back at her place.

I need more caffiene and some brekkie.

Happy Monday Y’all!
