Great news, Dotty!
We have no snow here, but it’s been promised for other parts of the UK although not the bit I live in. This is a good thing. Snow would seriously ruin my chances of going to the pub tonight and I don’t like things getting in the way of my beerverages.
I went to sleep around 1:am - I awoke at 3:am with a leg cramp, and have been awake since. I think I’ll go stare out my east facing window and watch the sun not come up

I have started my handover notes - I write good handover notes. Comes from my past 3 jobs where I have had no handover at all walking in.
I also told mr ems to expect the Honey-Do list from hell on all the little projects that need doing in the house that he has not ‘got round to this year’. My new job is not going to be that taxing brain wise so I will need a project to manage and complete - I also put in my share of work! He is really look ing forward to having me back honestly!

Well, rigs, I’m sure I’ve driven near your house in the past, then. I’ve traveled the Lincoln Highway all the way from NYC to Lincoln, Nebraska.
Not too much going on yet this morning. We got some more snow since I shoveled, but it doesn’t look too terrible out.

We got about half an inch or so of ice last night, and it’s snowing in earnest right now. <flinging confetti on the ground in the hopes of getting a little traction> **FCD **got up, showered, then went back to bed after I told him how nasty it is out there. According to the local weather dudes, the worst should be over around noonish, with tapering snow till the wee small hours of Thurs. We’ll go out and shovel, but all told, our county may get only 3-6", which is great. That’s actually shovelable. But there is that ice underneath…
On the other hand, we’re supposed to have sun and highs above freezing for several days in a row, so yay for that.
I just had a bowl of cereal and I’m caffeinating. The house is quiet, Taz just horked on the carpet, and I’m in a comfy sweatsuit instead of work clothes. All in all, life is good.
I have good news and bad news. Moooooooom’s snow missed us again.
All in all, I wanna thank the MADs for taking another blizzard for the team.
Blurf. I was so tahred last night that I deliberately skipped Lost, and was in bed by 2030.

Sometime in the night, I caught a cold. 
We got about 6-8 inches here, total, if my tool of linear measurement is accurate. I can’t find snow totals anywhere, except for one guy, Tom Skilling (who is something of a legend locally), but all his totals are for suburbs on the FAR north and west sides of the city. Thing about Chicago is that those places can get tons of snow and we get none or vice versa, so I still don’t know. I want to KNOW! I MUST know!
And I have to shovel this AM before the 40 mph winds arrive from Wisconsin.

Woo and back-flippin’ hoo! A neighbor came by a few minutes ago and offered to come back after the snow and plow our drive for $60.

In celebration, I pulled some butter out to soften and I’ll make some oatmeal cookies later. Oatmeal’s healthy, right?
Talked to my daughter - they’re leaving FL shortly and driving to Lumberton NC for the night. That’ll get them in here tomorrow afternoon, which should allow plenty of time for the roads to be cleared. Chances are she won’t have school for the rest of the week anyway.
Oatmeal’s totally healthy, Mooooooooooooooom. I suggest adding chocolate chips… for, y’know, extra anti-oxidants and stuff.
oh yeah - anti-oxidants are good for glaucoma, Or cataracts, or some eye thing…
I"m thinking the oatmeal cookies will be good for warming the kitchen - at least the oven will.

I’m slightly less grumpy at work today than yesterday. I hate that I’ve gotten this way. I like what I do, but I’m sick of my coworkers interrupting me with questions every five minutes. Yeah, I know, I’m teaching them to fish and all that. But it’s frustrating right now and extremely tiring. I don’t like feeling this down about coming to work. Blah. But I get to work from home tomorrow so that’ll help. Fewer annoying questions when people can’t see me sitting at my desk.
