I’m not working today.
I actually was planning on taking Friday off but my car is being worked on today so I decided to rearrange things. Anyway, My Fiance started his new job in Rhode Island on Monday and we live in Western MA so I couldn’t borrow his car. Mine is overheating - again I don’t know why it’s doing it. It seems to happen every time I get an oil change. I know my mechanic isn’t doing anything wrong. He thinks something is getting joggled in my engine when he goes in there. So, that’s what he’s looking for today.
Back to the “I’m not working today”. I work in customer service. I borrowed a day of vacation (my vac. days renew in June) so I could take Friday off to prepare for my yard sale. The condo complex I live in is having it’s annual spring community wide yard sale on Saturday and I am going to participate for the first time. Because of my car, I did the yard sale stuff today. Mr. Congo’s sister came over to help and she’ll be back after dinner. For now though - I’m bored. I’m watching Rose Red and screwing around on the 'puter. There’s nothing on TV and I have the nagging feeling that I should be doing something but I don’t know what. I think the feeling will pass at 5:00 because that’s when I’d normally get out of work.
If anyone in West Mass or CT wants directions to the yard sale, ask and I’ll be happy to oblige. I’m selling lots of clothes, lots and lots of elephants, lots of books, some random junk and an old sewing machine. The sewing machine is really nice. It comes with an end table looking thing which is actually a stand for the machine. It folds open to give room for material.
My house is a complete pit right now. My whole living room is full of boxes of stuff. There’s 3 boxes of books for Mr. Congo to go through. I knew he was a geek but I didn’t relize the extent of his geekdom until I looked in these boxes. He has about 25 Star Trek books, about 20 Star Wars books, a Klingon dictionary , 2 copies of Dune (not including my copy), 2 copies of The Hitchhikers Guide and So long and Thanks for all the Fish (not including my complete set), about 5 Calvin and Hobbes books, 2 Bloom County books, blueprints for 4 different Star Trek ships and random other geeky books. He also has the manuals for every single computer game he’s ever owned, every box for every Star Wars Lego set he’s ever owned and almost every GI Joe, transformer and RC car from when he was a kid. There’s also a massive box of Magic cards but I doubt he’ll sell them. He has an autographed picture of the actor who played Mr. Morden (B-5). I can’t make fun of that though, I have an autographed picture of the whole cast of Red Dwarf
Ok, I don’t have to be bored anymore. Mr. Congo’s sister is coming to get me for dinner. YAY!
Hey, you never know when you may need one of those! I have a copy myself.
Have fun at dinner! Bring me the leftovers.
