Happy Sunday!
It was a soggy 70 degrees at the park this morning. I would have been more comfortable in long sleeves.
Not too many showed up, no surprise with how messy it is.
Poor Sky is afraid of Echo. I feel bad.
At one point they were playing until Sky got scared and took off with Echo hot on her ass. Echo was playing, but I guess Sky didn’t know it.
Remus got over it, I hope Sky will too.
No Barky or Humpy, but there is some different shit going on there.
I guess I am blind to things sometimes.
The other day somebody asked me about the daycare. As I was answering him, Barky mom, who was sitting next to me, started yelling at another dog up by the water fountain. That owner was filling the bowls and every time he set a bowl down, his dog would play in it and spill all the water.
There was no need for her to yell at the dog, and it meant the other person and I couldn’t talk because we couldn’t hear each other.
I had noticed a few days before that I was asking a newbie about his job. His face lit up and he was telling me about a program he was in, something about the state paying for his master’s degree if he teaches for so many years or something like that. Barky mom jumped in, which of course it is an open conversation for anybody, and kind of shut me out of it. I saw the look he gave her but just gave up in the conversation.
A few days before that I was talking with another newbie, and the next thing I knew, Barky mom jumped in and changed the subject and the two of them were off on something I know nothing about.
Not that I cared so much, except I’m seeing a pattern.
So, I asked somebody else if they had noticed that Barky mom seems to want to shut me down when I am talking with people other than her. She looked at me like I had just grown a new head and said of course she had noticed, as has most everybody else. I asked if it was only me, and she said no, she does it to one other person too.
Interesting.
The park is closed tomorrow, so one friend invited a few of us to his house for a playdate in the morning. I’ve been once already, and he has a beautiful yard, with a fish pond. It will be interesting to see what the lab does. Ripple wants no part of it, Echo will stand on the rocks and look at the fish. I’m afraid she may fall in.
His wife just put a gender reveal out on FB, so it will be nice to see her again and celebrate a little. I have to drive past Krispie Kream, I wonder if they will have any blue frosted donuts. I’m really happy for them, they are such a cute couple. They used to take in foster kids, the difficult ones, so I know they will be great parents.
I may or may not go to my mother’s afterwards.
She called me last night and sounded horrible. She said she didn’t want any company, but then said family is okay.
Well, that’s decided, she just called and wants us to come see her.
I’ll have to figure out something to take, food wise.
