My Excitement for the Day!

After 14 very long weeks at 11:30 am (about 2 hours) I’m going to get my hair cut!!:D:D

I usually have it cut every 6 weeks so it’s been more than twice as long in between cuts. Actually my hair isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I’ve come to the realization that I probably don’t have to cut my hair as much as I thought I did. It’s gone from shoulder length to between my shoulder blades and I kind of like it. My hair hasn’t been this long since junior high. I just need my bangs and layers shaped up a little bit. My bangs were the biggest irritant and I’m not brave enough to take a scissors to them myself.

Yay! For salon day.
How’d it go?

My hair is very long. I had 17inches cut off under duress last year. I donated it to a charity for people with cancer. I hadn’t had it cut in nearly 20years.
It was traumatic. I think I have PTSD :D.

I hope your experience was pleasant.

It was amazing! I think just being able to a “normal” thing again made me feel good. Although wearing a mask was kind of crummy. But my bangs aren’t driving me crazy anymore!

I can’t imagine cutting 17" after 20 years. That had to be hard. How much has grown back?

I had been threatening to back into a lawnmower. I’m used to VERY short hair, and complaints were driving the rest of the house crazy.

The Son-in-law procured clippers with the blade guard of proper length. The Daughter bravely volunteered to do the honors.

Success!

Later, I saw the box that held the clippers. They are dog grooming ones.

So what!

I haven’t tried to scratch behind my ears with my foot. Neither have I wanted to lick my butt.

However, I have been tempted to enjoy a few dog treats with my AM coffee…

Congrats, OP on your haircut! May you enjoy feeling normal again!

Thanks! I do feel a little more normal.

You were brave to allow a non-professional near your head with clippers and dog clippers to boot! I could never have done it, even if they used human clippers.
