My Favorite Comedian

George Carlin is definetely funny.

Richard Prior also cracks me up especially his old albums about the witch that peed in a pot. And the Eddie Murphy “Delirious” video is definetely funny funny funny.

Honorable mention that no one has put down Bob Hope. He is such a character and I love his expressions and delivery.

Adam Corolla.

Patton Oswalt. You can see him on “King of Queens”…he plays Doug’s whiny, heavyset friend. He is an incredibly funny, underrated stand-up. He appears frequently on Conan O’Brien and the last time I caught him on that show he did an impression of a Carvel Ice Cream commercial that had me shooting milk out my nose.

Ok, kudos also have to go to that guy on MAD TV, who plays 'Kevin" the spastic kid.

Bill Cosby does indeed deserve that lifetime comedy award. As does Bob Hope.

Judy Tenuta
Rita Rudner

Got to be George Carlin. His Parental Advisory album is my all time favorite comedy record. I like him both from the mellower old days and current bitchy and mean days. And of course I borrowed my seldom seen sig from him.

Eddie Izzard Imitating a bee keeper flirting with the new girl in the office “Ha ha haaaaa… I like my coffee like I like my women: covered in bees!”

Kevin Meaney Imitating his mother “That’s not right! We’re gonna lose the house!”

Steve Martin “I believe I made a mistake when I bought a thrity-story, 1-bedroom apartment.”

Steven Wright “Last night I had a dream that all the babies prevented by the Pill showed up. They were mad.”

Mark Lowry “You ever bite into a vitamin pill? They taste horribe 'CAUSE THEY HAVE VITAMINS IN THEM!”

Dennis Leary “This country was founded on two things: meat and war. You eat enough red meat, you wanna kill somebody!”

BTW, Eddie Izzard so far has been the only comedian who had me laughing so hard I had to leave the room, gasp for breath, and grab the inhaler. It was during his Englebert Humperdink routine. hee hee hee

Another comedian thread where no one mentions Andrew Dice Clay. What is wrong with you people? The guy is absolutey hillarious.

But Stephen Wright and Kevin Meaney have also had me gasping at times.

It might help if I’d turned the sig on.

I turned it on! Where’d it go?!

Engelbert Humperdinck? He’s dead, you know. …No, no, it’s not true.

…Yes, it’s true.

Jonathan Winters, (I have one of his comedy tapes - he’s an evil genius.)

Stephen Wright, Emo Phillips, Robin Williams.

I love George Carlin, but do find some of his stuff a little too bitter.

Yeah! I recieved a CD copy of Dice Rules for my birthday a couple of months ago. It just killed me and has been in my CD player ever since.

Izzard. With Williams a close second and whasis name from Mr. Show a close third (his getting raped by the virgin mary bit is priceless.)
BTW, you can get a random sampling of Izzard quotes here. Je dois partir maintenant parce que ma grandmere est flambe

If you like Dennis Leary, you will LOVE the person who’s entire act he stole to start his career. Ever hear of a man named Bill Hicks? An OUTSTANDING comedian who never got the credit he deserved while he was alive. Other than that, every other person on the list is pretty darned good

Ah, his name is david Cross. Very funny man.
You can hear some of his work here

Current favorites are Eddie Izzard and Billy Connelly and Ed Byrne a Irish comedian who is quite big in the UK and has done some spots on Conan O’Brien
My favorite of all time has to be Bill Hicks.

Billy Connolly is the funniest comedian alive. See him, see him, see him, and marvel at how he can make people laugh just by telling them what he had for breakfast - it’s an incredible skill!

I can’t even really sepaprate out an absolute favorite from my list so here they are in no order:

George Carlin

Steven Wright

Emo Phillips

Dave Chappelle

Paula Poundstone

Chris Rock

The Amazing Johnathan
aenea–where are you seeing Carlin at?
