He looked awfully familiar to me too, then I realized they were betting on where and when a chicken would poop and I got distracted.
You’re not. That was indeed Kadeem Hardison… but old and stuff.
Ok, is it wrong to mention that I think he’s gotten a lot hotter as he’s aged? (I can’t believe I was crushin’ on Dwayne Wayne!)
You must not be paying attention - On the SDMB, Scientology is a target everyone and their mother is allowed to pile on without any sort of temperance.

No, I have observed it and as I despise the broad brush being used in almost any case, I do not think it makes the non-stop bashers look very smart.
As a self-studied student of classic science fiction I strongly believe that Scientology is nothing but a tragic scam started by a very weak science fiction writer when he realized how much money he could make off of it. This does not mean that every person that has been listed as a member is a fool or idiot. If nothing else, it rarely seems to hurt any careers in Hollywood.
I would love it, if these nice little, we love “My name is Earl” threads never mentioned Scientology again. As long as they do, I will continue to defend Lee & Suplee.
Jim {In Russia they arrest Scientologist. (Sadly this is a true statement and not just a bad joke)}
Good episode. I have always liked Kadeem Hardison and hope he becomes a recurring character in the mold of Kenny (“pitch and smear the Kenny” HA!), or Ribisi’s character.
I liked how they teased us into thinking it was a cockfight arena and instead it is a chicken poop parlor.
I, also, liked Catalina’s costume.
I love the Salma Hayek pinata that Catalina wanted, a nice jab at Salma, who’s on Ugly Betty opposite Earl. Thursday really has become my Must-See (and tape) TV night: Ugly Betty, Earl, 30 Rock. I see ore TV on Thursday than the rest of the week combined.
Plus hayek was in “Dogma” with Jason Lee.
Spoiler boxing, just in case:
She was on Leno a few weeks back and said Joy wasn’t going to be pregnant on the show. She said pregnant characters are for when a show is tanking, and Earl isn’t tanking.
It might be an inside joke, like when she and Darnell were talking about their various relatives, and maybe they shouldn’t do Thanksgiving “next week”.
The next Thursday was Thanksgiving, and no episode aired.
Can someone spoil both Riccolah jokes? I remember seeing the water tank ep, but I don’t remember the joke. I saw last night’s ep off of Tivo, but I was also trying to grill, too, and I must have missed it (and of course, I summarily deleted it off my Tivo).
In last night’s episode, they were in Kenny’s house after he sold all his furniture to pay his gambling debts. The house was empty and had hardwood floors, causing to Randy to suddenly do the “Riiiicolaaaaaa” thing from the cough drop commercials.
He did the same thing when they were inside the big, echoey water tower. Not much to spoil, just a wacky non-sequitor.
Did anybody else catch the tampon mobile Randy made Catalina? It’s hanging over the bed next to the piñata, and he takes it down when he realizes she’s not coming. Heh.
Okay when you combine Joy in her stripper outfit with her conversation with Crabman:
“Wow, big stack this week.”
“Yeah, Club Chubby relaxed the no-touch policy for the holidays.”
I would be left penniless after going to Club Chubby.
Ohhhhhhhhhh … I thought those were windchimes.
I didn’t catch that. Cool.
What did Randy call the tampon when he was looking through Catalina’s purse? He doesn’t know what a tampon is, does he?
No, Randy correctly identified it as a tampon. The funny came from his declaration of tampons as one of the things “she likes,” along with orange Tic Tacs and keys.
ok, this is more a general question, not about this episode but…
Twice Darnell has been identified as being in the witness relocation program, yet last week they were talking abou his Aunt and his family was at the rehersal dinner for their wedding.
Did the government give him a whole family?
We don’t know. Darnell’s story has changed several times. In the first episode there was a mention of his parents throwing him out for growing weed.
In the last episode, they seem to imply that Darnell’s family could show up for Thanksgiving. You already mentioned the wedding. So how they reconcile the two will be interesting.
Jim
Not that I wouldn’t love to see Joy in a stripper outfit, but that was Catalina.
