My Name is Earl 11/30

Good point.

Catalina’s mush-mouth has been very noticeable to me ever since the Catalina-centric episode. Anybody else notice this?

What is a mush-mouth?
Are you talking about the Fat Albert character?
Do you mean the way she talks or her mouth?

Jim

I noticed it in the Catalina-centric episode…it sounded like she was talking through a mouthful of spit.

I need subtitles for Joy sometimes, but no problem with Catalina. Joy talks too fast, and then there’s the chewing gum.

Considering how badly it turned out, shouldn’t ‘Got Gay Kenny hooked on gambling’ get added to the List?

Has Earl used up his Lottery money?
Up to this point in the show, he hasn’t had to work, and was able to fund his list projects with the lottery cash. But in this episode, it looks like he gambled everything away, and there wasn’t going to be anything left, and he might also lose Calalina’s cash, too (with no way to replace it).
So is this a major shift? Or will this all be forgotten, and next week he will still have gobs of winnings left to help with the list?

I think Earl is still flush with cash. At the end of last season, Earl gave all his winnings to Paul, the guy who would have bought the winning ticket if Earl hadn’t stolen his wallet. Paul went nuts with the money, but then gave it back to Earl, and there was still a substantial amount left then.

And Earl kept winning in the gambling episode. That’s the twist & realization he had at the end - that even though he was winning, even when gambling with other people’s money, his addiction was still hurting others - Catalina got pulled over because he didn’t drive her to work like he promised.

And I also liked that Earl’s solution to taking someone’s lunch every day for a year is to make him a year’s worth of sandwiches and deliver them all at once. Classic Earl cluelessness.

He did nothing but win during the episode. This might have actually been a device to get him more money. All signs point to Earl & Randy living very cheaply. He has made no extravagant purchases and is staying at a fleabag motel. That $100,000 should last for a bit. My WAG on the betting Catalina’s cash scene probably was just because Earl did not have enough cash on him for the bet in question. I did not see anything to lead us to believe he has a lack of savings. They mentioned he used his first big winnings to buy new tires for the El Camino. Even here, he did not pay to have them changed but planned to do the change with Kenny.

The producers will eventually have to address the cash flow problem, and this might have been a small part of it.

He also showed up on House as a lawyer who would potentially take House’s case against the drug charges.

Thanks, I think this was the source of my confusion. I assumed that he was dipping into her cash because he totally ran out of his own. Of course, he could have the bulk of his lottery winnings somewhere else (like a glove compartment).

No, in the last chicken shit gambling scene, the chicken is named Mr. Pitts, their 5th grade teacher. So Kenny and Earl figure it’s a sure thing they’re going to win by betting on 5. So he decided he’ll help Catalina out by betting all her money too. He was certainly not short on cash.

That’s too bad. It would be pretty funny if she gave birth to another white baby.
