My Name Is Earl 5/3/07

I remember the nerdy Dickie guy from Murphy Brown, too. He kept showing up at restaurants, bars and stores and always gave Murphy a non sequitur-laden hard time.

I think Joy was really rattled after bumping into the ASL interpreter guy at the grocery store, and having him warn her that she might be convicted. She couldn’t bear the thought of actually going to prison, so she went on the lam. A bench warrant will probably be issued for her arrest when she fails to appear for her trial (maybe the Camden County judge will bang his “little judge’s hammer” and smash some more walnuts for Randy after signing the bench warrant). That won’t be good for her at sentencing.

Even though I didn’t have the scratch-and-sniff card, I thought it was a pretty good episode. I kinda wished Earl had reverted to his old ways and popped the smug junior-college salesmen when they were so mean to him. I liked Joy learning the Spanish word for “snap,” and then getting the same dead-animal removal job in Mexico that Earl briefly held in the States. “Oh, chasquido!”

Was that the same shot of the toddler walking across water? I thought maybe she had taped over a miraculous moment!

I always associate Stoller with Friends. He played a traitorous waiter at Monica’s restaurant.

I think he even locked her in the supply closet once.

I always enjoy seeing him pop up in sitcoms. He’s done almost every one of them.

Also, was that scene a parody of the end of BEING THERE?
