Condolences and prayers for you and your family.
Very sorry to hear of your loss. A parent should never have to go through this. Peace and comfort to you and your family.
I regret that there is nothing to say except I’m so very sorry for your loss.
A mod contacted me about it. I had thought about it, but decided against it for whatever reasons, but several folks have contacted me, so I’ll post it once approved. None of the money generated will go to me, as I have no need for it, but my ex-wife is very strapped at this point because of past ER visits, and my son had no assets other than some worn furniture and a rust bucket car. I suspect most of the money will go to a fund for his son Ben, as his oldest boy is 22 and in the National Guard at the moment. Thanks for bringing it up.
I am so sorry, Chefguy.
So sorry for your loss, Chefguy. For the world’s loss. A lot of beautiful things came from your son’s life, I wish you peace.
I am so very sorry to hear this.
A beautiful and moving epitaph. I’m so sorry for your loss.
I have no children, so I can’t imagine how you are feeling now. I will pray for you and your family. Take care of yourself.
I’m so very sorry for your loss, Chefguy. This is heartbreaking, and your post was beautiful and moving.
I am so very sorry for your loss. That was a beautiful tribute.
I lost an older sister due to addiction and mental illness; I was only in 7th grade and she was 12 years older than I. Forty-plus years later I clearly remember what it did to our parents despite the battles they went through. I don’t think my mother ever quite got over it.
I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and your pain. Your post was so eloquent, thank you for that.
What asahi said. He expressed it better than I could. My sympathies, ChefGuy. I read your post in the mini rants thread, and I know how sad you feel about your son.
I am so sorry for you loss. What a terrible thing to experience. I hope that you can find peace in his memory.
I am so sorry.
I am so sorry to hear this. My condolences.
I am so sorry for your loss. It’s especially tragic when a parent outlives their child. I hope time brings you healing and peace.
So sorry to here this news Chefguy, your post brought me to tears.
As someone who has experienced what severe alcoholism and substance abuse can do to a family, my thoughts and condolences to you and your family.
Oh my God, Chefguy, I am so sorry for you. Children should never die before their parents, it must be one of the heaviest crosses a person can bear, I just can’t imagine. I was an addict for many years whilst young and lost too many good friends to overdoses but this is different. This is your son, your child, the baby you held in your arms. Words fail me but my heart goes out to you.
I’m so very sorry to hear this, Chefguy.
