I’d almost forgotten about the nightmare involved in assigning user IDs for call centres. Thanks, gotti, for dragging up those traumatic memories. I’m gonna go sob under my desk now.
Good thing I’d planned on going to yoga class tonight. Maybe a little oooom-ing will chase away the nightmares of user identity management.
Urgh. According to a walk-in clinic doc I have Norwalk virus. I feel dreadful. We are surviving, and Nat and Mr. Lissar are out getting me ginger ale and medicine right now.
Puggy - **FCD **recognized the mosaic. He said he spun on the bull’s balls and his company went out of business. Well, technically, they were bought by another company which then shut down half of their operations, but still…
TGIF! Our cars are actually parked in the garage for the first time since May. YAY! I got home in time to help my sweetie replace the motor on our garage door opener. We now have 4 openers programmed so the kids can use them, too. They can’t park inside, but they don’t have to enter in the dark any longer.
We had a nest of mice in the garage. That explains why Bernie was going nuts around the wood pile. There were 4 pink, nekkid rodents in the nest of stuffing from the love seat we had out there. No, we’re not keeping them We put the nest in the outside woodpile. If the mama finds them, fine. Otherwise, nature is cruel.
Tomorrow, we’ll bring the last of the big power tools up from the basement, then we’ll build the countertops, install them, and get the sink hooked up. The other big job is installing the flooring in the kitchen and nook. Then all that will remain are little bit jobs. The project is just about done. YAY!
What’s everyone having for dinner? Friday’s usually fun dinner night, but we’re having pizza later in the weekend so I don’t want to do that, and I’m not really in the mood for tacos/other Mexican. I’m looking for inspiration. What’s going to be on your dinner table tonight?
(Sushi kinda sounds good, but… it’s too much effort to go out for it and too far out of the way to pick it up on the way home. It’d probably be easier to come up with dinner if I weren’t feeling so lazy.)
Taxi fish sticks and mac&cheese. What? It’s the first thing I thought of! Oh and you need to call Apple with your iPhone tech problems. AT&T is the wireless provider and to whom the bill is paid. Apple is the iPhone provider and handles all the tech support for it. So, AT&T can make sure your wireless service is workin’ and explain your bill but Apple is everything else. Apparently Apple is very protective of its iPhone technology.
Evenin’ Y’all! How’s everybody?
Dindin was steak, friggin’ good N.O.T., sallit and rolls. Then just a little bit ago, ol’ y’all know who told me to put on presentable clothing and took me to the DQ. He had a large choco-dipped cone and I had a medium sized Oreo blizzard. YUM! Now we’s chillin’.
Tomorrow mornin’ I have to go help out at the church yard sale. Plus, company is comin’ for dindin. I put a roast in the slow cooker when I got to da cave today which should be done in an hour. It looks good. The gravy is nice and rich and thick. We’ll have roast beast (duh!), smashed N.O.T., cabbage casserole, steamed carrots, cornbread and buttermilk pie. A friend’s mother and brother are down visitin’ from Ohio, so friend and hubby (also a friend), mom and bro, and JoeDawg’s daddy and partner are comin’ over for dindin. Looks like I might not have time for a Sattidy nap. How tragic!
gotti from what I understand, the turnover rate is somewhere around 40-50 percent with this core of folks who have stuck around from five to ten years. Today somebody didn’t come back after lunch in my training class. Just up and left.
Feel better LiLi and gotti. All you other ailin’ Mumpers too.
It’s Friday and I’m finally home. I saw a wowser of an accident on my way home. It looks like somebody tried to cut someone else off and a car went sailing and landed on it’s roof. It didn’t appear that anyone was hurt, although there weren’t any emergency vehicles there yet. I saw all kinds of folks stopped and no one was laid out on the ground. Since there appeared to be plenty of help available, I didn’t stop.
We went to a new Chinese buffet for supper tonight. It has a really Chinese-y name - New York Buffet. It was OK. **FCD **thought it was better than Bad Chinese - it had a bigger variety, plus Mongolian BBQ. At least it beat cooking.
I’m in comfy sweats, assuming the chill posture. Wish I had some chocolate. Oh well…
I am -so- glad that it’s Friday! When I got home today, I almost immediately took a nap; I’m feeling some better now, thanks to infusion of Papa John’s XLG pizza. Speaking of which, it was supposed to have pepperoni, sausage -and- mushroom, but it only had pepperoni and sausage. It’s also supposed to be -three- toppings; I’m only guessing, but I think they added extra cheese rather than mushrooms. It’s a good pizza pie, though, for what it is.
We’re supposed to go to Michaels tomorrow, to get more yarn for my afghan. If it’s raining, though, I don’t think we’ll go. I stopped at the supermarket on the way home tonight; I saw a corned beef brisket and got that and a head of cabbage, so that will go in the slow cooker tomorrow. After having temps in the 80s for most of this week, a front has finally come through and temps today were in the 60s, more October-like. It had just gotten to feeling a bit too humid-y for me. Is too a word.
Sorry you’re sick, LiLi; hope the ginger ale calms your tummy.
Hi all. Life is just taking over lately, and I feel like I haven’t got time for anything outside of family and work. I have been trying to read along, but I just can’t keep up. Hubby has been working overtime most afternoons and nights, so I have been feeling a little like a single parent who just happens to share a bed with someone vaguely familiar! Sigh …
You’re going to let a little rain stop you from going to the craft store? Wow, don’t ever move to Washington. That’s all it does all fall and winter. You’d never get any shopping done here.
I wish to present a complaint: rosie’s kidlets are cutier than mine.
Sometimes I wonder if there’s something wrong with my eyesight or my feminininess or my sense of family, as I’m perfectly able to see that My Kidlets are noooooot The Cutest Kidlets In All Of Human History. Then I realize that yes, I’ve never done feminininess much, so it’s all right.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Soon I must go get presentable so I can go help at the church yard sale. I promised I’d be there around sevenish which I will be. However, it is too early on Sattidy to be up. Just sayin’…
Ok, let me go find some more caffiene and then go purtify. I am promised sausage biscuits at church. Yay for that at least.
