My sorta yacht-y MMP

I blame the full moon and chilly temps for the kitty walkaboutitis. If it were raining and yucky they’d be curled up on top of the heater like all smart kittehs do but since it’s clear and cold they can see the moon and it makes them krazeh. Well, that’s my excuse for Pratchett, I have no idea about the weather the rest of you are having.

My theory is that all Mumpers have pretty much the same weather, so yes, this is why kitties are walkabouting.

Why exactly am I still awake? I suspect the late-afternoon Dr. Pepper.

Death Chicken sounds like something which shouldn’t be cooked for a single person. Maybe I’ll try to convince Mom to give it a try for Christmas. Or, since my coworkers have sort’a said they’ll be bringing food to my flat for its “introduction party,” I’ll offer to make that one. Mind you, it’s not like they need anybody’s help making loads of food: we all seem to believe that if you’re inviting people to get fed, they have to Get Fed By Golly!

I’m awake. The schnoodles are snoring. Off to work I go.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Psychin’ up for another excitatin’ day of trainin’. Woo and Hoo! I know it’s necessary but four to five weeks of it???

BioRosie very squee-able pics. Abby is a cutie!

Blurf… need more caffiene. Need to forage.

Later Y’all!

Up and caffeinating here too, and good morning to you too, Swampy!

Rosie, little Abby is a cutie pie, thanks for sharing - and the nephew is cute too, btw.

Hope GT was able to get some quality sleep time in. No more late afternoon Dr. Peppers for you, young lady.

I’ve got CFC keyworker training this morning, so I have to go in. LOL At least tomorrow is Firday,

Ok, breakfast has been served. Well, at least it’s left the shop and is on it’s way to being served. Now, for my morning bowl of Count Chocula.

Good morning all! Did fall asleep eventually, tarra, and slept well, if not long…

Need to find breakfast. I know it’s here somewhere…

Is it Firday yet?

Good morning, and Happy Boss’s Day!

We are all going out to lunch for Mexican food today - it’s a combination Boss’s Day and [del]Thank God the Project’s Over[/del] Thanks for All Your Help on the Project celebration. Somebody is picking up the tab, too! Woo-hoo!

Yay for new business, Pie!

Most squeeable pics, Rosie!

Swampy, it sounds like way too much training to me. Four to five weeks? I’d go stir-crazy!

We’re getting a cool front! Whee! Lunchtime today it should be around 70°F and low humidity. Awesome!

Ok - time to look like I’m working. (Time to score a Feud! ;))

Happy housewarming party, Nava!

I read your comments, Smarty, and I was thinking of doing pretty much the same things. I will try a different type of bacon and also include mushrooms in my next attempt. I think I used cayenne pepper instead of paprika but substituting curry powder might appeal to 'im indoors too.

One of my friends is doing some trial recipes for her company’s salon culinaire next month and last night she came round with a couple of samples for us to try. As we were heading out to the pub, we didn’t get to try them so they’re waiting in the fridge for me. It’s so good having a professional dessert chef for a friend! No wonder the scales at Fat Club are so unkind to me.

Our cats were not taking advantage of the global feline walkabout day, they were having a sleepathon instead. I think they’re probably still digesting from Saturday’s marathon murdering session, or else they were confused by 'im indoors being at home on a work day while the guttering men were sorting out the repairs. They were fighting each other in the night, I know this by the large amount of fur at the top of the stairs.

I, however, was out drinking Roaring Meg and thoroughly enjoying it.

Blurf.

Cute kiddoes, Rosie. They’re definitely tied as the second cutest kids I’ve ever seen.

Carry on.

ETA: FOTP!

Hi.

On my own for the next few days (with kids).

I’ll need some company…

That’s what inspires Peter’s escapes, especially around the equinoxes. He slept snug next to me last night. I was wedged between the cat and the stuffed animals that guard my pillows during the day. I kept having dreams that I was sleeping next to a corpse.:eek::dubious:

Beautiful morning around here. The sun was coming up all golden–not that yellow metallic gold, but orangish gold–and it was burning off the fog over the soybean fields as I left the house. Absolutely glorious.

Blurf.

Awake (mostly) and chugging down coffee #1 for the day.

The Boy said he didn’t feel like pasta last night, so in the end, I just cooked up the snausages as-is and served them with roasted spuds made from the little blue potatoes I picked up at the market on the weeken. 'Twas good, though now I’ve got a craving for the baked pasta suggested by Rebo… I’ll suggest it again next week and see if he’s game.

No kitty walkabouts here… thankfully both our kittehs are scared witless of Outside. They’re definitely feeling the full moon itch, though, because they’ve been sitting on the windowsills and swishing their tails while staring out the windows for the past couple of days.

rosie, those are some squee-inducing pictures.

BooFae, I love the idea of a beer named Screaming Meg. It sounds like it would be similar to a weissbeer, what with the honey and citrus… too bad it’s not available in the colonies just yet. Sniff.

Urgh. Today’s happy wake-up time was 4:30. Got him back to sleep by 6:15 for two and a half hours, but since I couldn’t get Mr. Lissar to go to bed before the first time Nat woke up wanting to be fed, I only slept from 11 to 4:30, and had to get up at 2:30 for a little. Even with the two-hour nap, my eyes are still crossed.
Abby’s** adorable**, rosie. She’s just a little beauty. A chubby little beauty.

Soapy, we’re right here.

Okay, breakfast in a few minutes, grocery shopping, and we might be apartment-hunting this afternoon.

I think I can work that. I won’t have ALL the pics but I should have many. I’ll need to start writing now while it’s all swirling around in ma haid.

We are supposed to cool down to lovely 80s by the end of the week. Yay!

Mr. Anachi has announced that we need to go new grill shopping on Saturday. Yay!

Also yay on the return of the wandering kittehs. Our Dotty never roamed further than the nextdoor neighbor’s lawn…and that rarely. She loved to follow Mr. Anachi and inspect his gardening but for the most part she was never far from the garage door.

Cute curtain climbers, rosie. No one would ever accuse you of doting. Nope. Uh, uh.

I am hungry and it’s only 10:00 am. Looks like it’s going to be one of those days. :stuck_out_tongue:

I use rotini or other pasta for lasagna-like casseroles most of the time. It’s sooooooo much easier than dealing with the actual lasagna noodles.

I know it’s too late for an answer to be helpful this time, Muppet, but Italian sausage is one of my favorite ingredients so I have lots of ideas: just cook it up with onions and garlic, put the mix in bell peppers, and bake to make stuffed peppers; if you have canned pumpkin on hand make penne with sausage and pumpkin (Yes, it’s Rachel Ray. No it won’t kill the foodies out there to try a RR meal. It’s *really *good.); pick up some mini fresh mozzarella balls, wrap bulk sausage around them, bake or fry until they’re cooked through and the cheese is all melty, and serve over pasta with marinara sauce; make a quick spaghetti sauce with it; saute with peppers and onions and serve on buns. I’ve probably got more recipes, but these are the ones that I can come up with off the top of my head.

I made this recipe for non-spanikopita last night. It uses Swiss chard (or red chard in my case since I couldn’t find Swiss chard) instead of spinach. It was gooooooood. But I was glad KT was there to help me put it together. It was a lot of work dealing with the phyllo dough. But it was totally worth it in the end.

However, now I’ve got all this leftover phyllo… I’m thinking there should be some baklava in my future. Does anyone have a good (and not super hard) recipe?

Cute kids, rosie!

Our Lily cat has been pretty well-behaved recently. We let her out on our patio, and most of the time she just sits and watches the birds. Sometimes she runs down the sidewalk a bit, but for the last week or so she’s been a good kitty. Even if she did have to get her ears cleaned last night and was all bent out of shape about it. Poor kitty.

I never used lasagna noodles for lasagna. I usually use rotinii or fusili, since that’s what we tend to have.
We’re back from Costcovia, and I managed not to spend too much- I think I only bought one thing I wasn’t expecting to buy. Yay me!
Where is everyone this afternoon? Hello? :listens for echo:

I’m home and not quite awake. I was juuuuust drifting off to sleep when the hubby’s alarm clock went off this morning. Yes, I was awake all night long last night. I drifted off again for just a bit after he left, but then woke up and discovered I had overslept.

My head felt like a big block of lead too, so I just called in. I’m not going to take sick leave, I’ll take vacation. The problem is I just needed some sleep because I just haven’t really gotten ANY in the last couple of weeks. I can still barely keep my eyes open, but my back is just killing me so I had to get up.

I’m glad all your kitties are home safe again.

Not much else going on here. I think I’ll just cruise the net for awhile and then try to nap again.

Lunch was very good! I had chicken fajitas, beans and rice. Time for a departmental-wide nap, methinks.
