Name a silly thing that you don't really need but lust after anyway

I want this with this along with a big enough patio to put 'em on.

Ah, spring.

I have this beautiful hairstick bookmarked and frequently go sigh over it.

I like these, too. And this. Oooh, and this one

Why did you have to link that website? Are you TRYING to make me lust after more objects?
(Oh, and note-I know I don’t need a guide animal, I just want to adopt a pony like that as a pet-maybe a retired one?)

Guinastasia - Meet my mini, Peanut.

StG

When I was a kid, at one of the Sharper Image type stores, I saw a seven foot tall Galileo Thermomter, that had like 250 balls for exact temperature.

I have always wanted one of those.

I would love to see the reaction of a Toronto bus driver when someone goes to board with a guide pony.

I want a capybara. And some acreage with a pond to keep him happy. I also want some goats because they are kind of weird and funny. They could eat the blackberry vines and other stuff the capybara probably wouldn’t like, maybe keep him company too.

I also want a Cushman Haulster Security Vehicle (scroll to the middle of the page.) I’ve wanted one for a long time and get a wee bit jealous every time I go downtown and see the meter maids tootling around in similar vehicles.

I also want a paper cutter like we had in school. You know, the kind with the thick wooden base and the long cutting arm. They’re much superior to the kind they have today with the little cutting wheel. You can get a long, straight cut with the old-fashioned kind, whereas with the new kind, the paper can all too easily skew around just a bit as you’re cutting, no matter how hard you press on the holding bar. I’ve found the old-fashion kind at Staples for 50 to 70 bucks, depending on the size. They have heavy plastic bases, which aren’t as esthetically pleasing, but I’d settle for one in a pinch, should I have the money and the weakness of will to actually go for it.

Speaking of school stuff, I’d like an old-fashioned ditto machineand the ink too. Remember how good they smelled, those of you lucky enough to have actually operated one? Ah, good times. Good times.

Ohh! Ohhh! Also at Sharper Image, they had this thing made out of plexiglas that was about six feet high, three feet wide and only a couple of inches thick. It was filled with water and had rows of bubbles constantly rising through it. Mesmerising, it was. I want one of those!

A mutually fulfilling romantic relationship.

Failing that, meaningful human contact.

Screw the chessboard. I want the Lego Eiffel Tower on that same page. Over 3 feet high? Awesome. I can rebuild my Puzz3D Eiffel Tower and put them side by side.

Besides that new desire, I want to someday get a 7,000 piece or larger jigsaw. I’ve done a 6,000 piece one, which took over a year and occupied the entire table in our sun room. If I buy a bigger one now I swear my wife would divorce me, but when we retire. pant pant.

Most of the silly things I want I get anyway - like more books.

I been frantically trying to find a justification for ordering these. Opabinia regalis is the cutest little guy ever.

A pug. I have two cats and a husband and some children, but I want a cuddly little ugly dog! We’ve been talking about getting a dog for at least two years, so apparently we have good reasons not to get one.

Another baby.

Ugh! ETA: I don’t lust after babies, not in any weird way.

Also, the Coach ribbon tote. There’s a woman on my train who has one, and I really, really like it.

That’s a silly thing you don’t really need?

Hey, I get by without seeing people for days at a time!

No one here wants an iPhone? Shenanigans!

He/She? is adorable!
I pretty much want everything on this site.

I’d also like a sword. Not as clumsy or random as a gun. An elegant weapon, for a more civilized time.

This. Only around $600 for a ~12 inch model that I’ll only be able to use a couple times per year. Although I’m thinking of getting two so I will blow people away when they see two at a time being fielded.

akira5822, your link didn’t work for me. Did you mean [url=“DOXA SUB750T”]this watch[/u

That would be the one, Thanks

You’re probably right, Arnold. Now, would you like to contribute to the “Buy Purl an Embroidery Machine” fund? I only need about $4000, and then I can embroider Dope t-shirts all the livelong day.
