Marmalade
Everyone should have a cat named Schrodinger.
I thought of Marmalade, but the Mr. doesn’t like it
If I If babykitty were a boy, it would work well, but not for a girl plus I am not that in to physics- heh heh
My teenage kitty says you can have her name for your baby if you like. When we found her, it was late fall, and she was lying very still, didn’t even move when nudged, previously she’d run away from you. We picked her up, and brought her inside unresisting.
She was covered in fleas, her white fur was blackened with fleas! We HAD to bathe her, so we did with a mixture of a gentle unscented shampoo and alcohol since she was far too young for pesticidal shampoo. (My husband’s mother worked for the local vet, and this was a method he’d recommended to her.)
Anyway, later on after she was snuggling in a warm fuzzy blanket, I asked her her name. “Rhiow” was all she’d say, so that’s the name she got. It suits her very well. She has a good deal of some Oriental breed in her (and the nuerosis to prove it) her looks show it, and so does her voice. That’s how she meows. Though now she “rhows” or “murls” at us since she considers us cats too.
It’s also taken from the book “The Book of Night With Moon” by Diane Duane, one of the main characters is a black cat with the name “Rhiow”. It’s a favorite of mine. “The Book of Night With Moon”
How sure are you that babykitty is a girl. I knew a Princess who had the cutest little kitty nads once.
Torties and calicos are always female. It’s a genetics thing.
Isn’t it still “almost always” female with that? A tortiseshell could have 3 chromosomes, if it were male. It would mean problems, besides being sterile IIRC though.
Yeah, that’s right. Silly me. :smack:
Yep she is definitly a girl, no nuts except for the ones in her head . In her liiter of six there are 3 boys and 3 girls.
My other cats Scooter (girl) & Denali (boy) were so fuzzy when they were little, we couldn’t tell. Scooter was supposed to be a boy… and Denali a girl… oh well I love them just as much even after 4 years!
I’ve always been partial to mythological names.
I think if she’s got spirit to her, you should name her Pele after the Hawaian volcano goddess.
If she’s more peaceful, call her Nirvana.
Of course Spot always works well too.
Hey LVgeogeek! What did you name the kitty?
I have been meaning to get back to this thread. :o but since I am a slacker…
Anyways, we decided to name her Topolino (little mouse).
Tortuga was our first choice, but she wouldn’t even repond to it. Gabbro was the second choice and would have been chosen, but we already have a cat with a “G” name (Guinness).
Since these were our top picks from the SDMB suggestions, I will award prizes for that if they would be wanted by… um… who suggested them…lemme look at the list… RainGrowsBrite & LilyoftheValley
Topolino had her first vet appointment this past Saturday… she weighed a whole 2.13 lbs & I have more pictures of her but I need to upload them to the computer.
Topolino is a very cute name! I just hope you don’t expect her to be a mouse-catcher!
Woot! I knew there was a reason I bumped this thread. How about a rock from Nevada?
Crouton!
LilyoftheValley, sure I can send you a cool rock from Nevada . My email is in my profile. Send me your info and I will put it in the post.
Oh, and the only mice she catches are those technicolored toy mice
Based on the size of the eyes in the picture I’d say Goggles.
