Duke loses!
But I could be WRONG!!! Let’s Go Mountaineers!
So not only did today screw up my super-secret pick of Marquette to the Final Four, we get another game where every other word out of the announcer’s mouth is “Lopez.” And the other-every-other word is “Twins.”
Seriously, they’re big and twins. We get it. STFU about it.
[sub]only slightly bitter[/sub]
Currently sitting at 1,100th in the ESPN bracket challenge and yet to miss a game today. So, that’s pretty cool. Go Pitt.
Dear UCLA:
While my medical insurance is fairly decent, and it is now quite evident that I’m strong enough to survive a mild heart attack, I would greatly appreciate it if you didn’t feel the need to push me or my bracket that far again in this year’s tournament. My wife would probably also appreciate it if you didn’t cause me to yell obscenities at the television or to jump up and down repeatedly with arms flailing about.
In the end, however, I realize that the “W” is all that matters, and I thank you for acquiring this one tonight. Sleep well, and we’ll talk again after the Sweet 16 game.
Sincerely,
Asimovian
Goodnight sweet prince. I got crushed over the last couple days…it wasn’t unexpected though, I kinda went out on a limb on a bunch of the picks.
oooh. sorry bout that.
Pitt went.
Don’t we get more points for correct picks in the later rounds? It seems to me that these brackets always come down to who made the right pick in an Elite Eight game, and the fact that you picked a perfect first round means very little in comparison with picking the final.
Is this the same?
Even as someone who bleeds Michigan State Spartan green, I have to say that Pitt got the short end of the stick last night. The fouls in the last few minutes were very questionable, particularly the charge called as the defender wasn’t set yet. Not that the would have won, but Pitt deserved a better officiated game, as did Michigan State in the Big Ten semi.
Stanford should be gone.
Reffing is the flaw of basketball.
I picked both WVU over Duke and Davidson over Georgetown. That should be worth triple or something.
I had those also. If Memphis wins, I’ll be sitting pretty good. 12 of the 16.
OK, so that Pitt game cost me a shot at the ESPN title. I’m right on with everything else, but that one hurt. However, I defy anyone to watch Stephen Curry and Davidson and tell me they can’t get caught up in March Madness.
He is absolutely the best thing going right now.
Well, after a brutal weekend I’m sitting dead last in our pool and 10th in my office pool. I just want to say that I picked George town to lose but to the wrong team I also picked two 12/13 seeds to advance to the sweet 16 unfortunately I only pick one of the once that did advance. Stupid San Diego. But my boys from Stanford are still alive unfortunately I only have them with one more win. I just want to end this by saying I will never pick Duke again after the first round they have cost me the last three years in a row. (Ya I had them in my championship game)
Well, I guess my choice of Georgetown going all the way has effectively ruined my chances of winning.
I’ve actually kept a color-coded printout of my ESPN Final Four bracket every year since 1998. I’ve never gotten better then 10 of the Sweet 16. Why do I even bother? That’s what I’ve got this year, its only good enough for the 60th percentile for at ESPN. I flirted with near 1st round perfection in '02, but somehow managed to only get 9 out of 16 by the end of the weekend.
No, no you’re not.
He was looking ahead.
Heh, I’m an idiot, as if you couldn’t tell from my picks. I was only looking at the top 10 and was last :smack: . Well, hopefully this boost in my rank will continue and I’ll go all the way to #1.
