I had acess to my ymail account via cell phone and laptop. I was updating my password to use a Kindle Fire, and the upshot is that I got locked out of my ymail access from my laptop. Is there any way to reset the security password? This seems to be the one thing that’s keeping me from laptop access (where my various resumes and cover letters lurk). I would be grateful for any advice, or if I’m misunderstanding where the problem lies and someone can clarify for me, that would be awesome.

(let him google that for you)
Thank you, Donnerwetter, for that link.
Thank you also and kaylasdad99 for your awesome use of an internet acronym. Billy might want to tweet that.
I may just need to wait for the lockout to expire. OTOH (I’m capitalizing my acronyms, kaylasdad99), if I still get socked with the security question I may be out of luck. I couldn’t find anything specifically addressing the security question, and I’m concerned that this might be the real sticking point.
This may be closing the barn door long after the horse has escaped, but it is always a good reminder that when deciding which security question to use, don’t pick something that is based on an emotion. For example, I never pick “Who’s your favorite actor/singer/author/etc”, because who my favorite is today will probably not be the same person 2 years from now.
Good luck, 11811 … I hope you can get into your email.
Thank you, BobArrgh
I’m beginning to think that once the lockdown ends, I’ll be able to sign in without the security question (fingers crossed).
