New Job? Can't Take Anticipation!

I’m sitting here waiting for the phone to ring. They’re going to call in about 20 minutes with my offer. I found out that they wanted to make me an offer about a week ago, but I was out of town at the end of this week, so we set up a phone meeting for this afternoon.

I really liked the company, and I really want to work there (and live in Santa Barbara), and…

Oh, jeez.

Ring.
Ring, phone, ring!

Good luck, Iamthewalrus!

As someone who (somewhat) recently got that call, the job offer is only slightly less exciting than the fact that you’re done with behavioral interviews (for a while)!

Yes yes yes yes yes yes.

It’s awesome and I’m taking it and yay.

What? How can this be, everyone knows that there is no job growth (irony off).

Congratulations

Yeah. No less, it’s a software development job. And we all know that there are only like four of those left.

Congrats, walrus!

Congratulations! And lucky you! I had an interview last Monday, and while I feel pretty confident about it, I don’t think Im going to hear from them until late this week, if not sometime next week. But even so, I spend my days sitting by the phone, waiting…ring…now,…now?..now!..now, please, now?

I hope you enjoy your new job!

Yea, mnemosyne, I’m doing the same thing here. Wait for phone, check e-mail, wait for phone, check e-mail, check job boards for new postings…

1st time I’ve been in the job market for 20 years. Been out for 6 months but figure I will be getting a call anyday now (because it’s starting to get nice enough outside to where I can enjoy myself  )

I got a call today…for a second interview! YES!!

Although, I’ve already worked there for two summers. All of my references are people who still work at this company. The original interview with the (new to the company) group supervisor went well (obviously well enough) and now I have to meet HIS manager, who will approve hirings. Thing is, this guy already knows me, a little (we didn’t work directly together, but I at least know him!)

Here’s hoping for an on-the-spot hire tomorrow, because I am really getting impatient with all this! The HR perosn, who knows me really well, went so far as to apologise for having to bring me in one more time. EVERYONE in the building wants me back, and yet this guy insists on basing his decision on interviews with the new guy and with himself, who is fairly far removed from the actual job.

I love this company, though, so I really hope it goes well! I want to work!!!
