How could anyone be annoyed by a magical hoo-ha?!

It would be a whole different story if there was a mysterious doo-hickey. :stuck_out_tongue:

I had a nice visiting weekend, so I didn’t even notice the boards were down until Sunday evening. A spare rib barbeque, with friends, is a wonderful thing. Getting to sleep over and have breakfast with said friends is better. I’m trying to talk them into coming down for a visit. Living 3 hours or so apart means we don’t see each other often enough. And now I have a guest bedroom with an actual bed in it! First time in my adult life I’ve had someplace for guests to sleep that was meant for guests.

I have two cats, named Neko (large, grey, about 12 years old) and Shiva (smaller, brown tabby, about 4 years old - in the picture he’s still a kitten). Either Friday or Saturday morning I woke up convinced that I’d actually named them Bo Diddley and Twinkletoes, respectively. I have no explanation for this.

I’m starting to settle into the new job, I think. I’m still worrying at myself that I’m not picking things up fast enough, except I probably am. It is, after all, a whole new company, product set, architectures, etc. They tend to use multiple terms for the same thing and the same term for multiple things, so like a good little tech writer one of my mid-range goals is to establish a glossary that nails down one word to one meaning. If only so my “poor little cranium” doesn’t burst trying to work out which word is being used in which sense this time. At least I get to use FrameMaker again, which makes me a very happy tech writer.

Morgyn, no can see pics.

I’m still annoyed at the world in general because of my once-in-a-blue-moon period. I went shopping today to see if I could find new sandals - my old ones, red ones from Nine West which I absolutely love, caused me to trip and fall down an escalator last weekend, which finally forced me to admit that they have outlived their usefulness. Everything is gaudy and overpriced. Grumble.

Maybe I’ll try going shopping again tomorrow. This time not at the department store.

I’m all for magical hoo-has. But what does a magical hoo-ha do? Does it spout kittens and butterflies? Sing a little song when it’s happy?

Happy birthday, Swampy!

Skimmed briefly, retained nothing… (sorry :o)

Except for Happy SwampDay!!!

So, good morning everybody… back to the salt mines for me (going on vacation in 3 days has a steep price-tag now!)

Happy Birthday Swampy, Y’old Fart!

I thought SCA was the Society for Creative Adultery.

The beaver cake is for Monday’s Rescue Squad meeting, seein’ how a rabid beaver sinking a boat is the strangest call of the year to date. I think I’ve figgered out a way to make it out of 2 layer cake batches. Of course, lots of white frosting at the mouth is required.

Happy Birthday Swampy!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Actually purtification has also been achieved. Shortly I am leavin’ to go meet ol’ y’all know who for brekkies. I’m also bein’ taken to dindin at Sonny’s BBQ which is where I want to go. Yay.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes y’all! I am particularly honored that MCUNE used her 666th post to wish me happy birthday.

Later Y’all!

Happy Birfday Swampster!

I didn’t make you any snark, sorry

Good morning and Happy Birthday, swampy!!!

Sorry for the angry-at-the-worldness, Haze.

Hope the insurance thing works itself out easily, Flutters.

Guess I should get moving…

Happy Birthday swampy !!!

Up, caffeinated, off to work soon.

Flutter, had that happen, it sucks.

Hope things get better, Haze

Spaz, that comic describes my reaction to a lot found on the IntarWeb. And you can come and party here anytime.

I had 666 posts??? Wow. How did that happen? I didn’t think I talked much at all.

My pharmacy just started using an online service for perscrption refills. It was awesome!!! Before I had to go through a stupid phone system that seriously took me about 15 minutes to refill my 2 perscriptions and with the online system it was less than 2 minutes. Sweet! Then they get mailed right to my house for free. I LOVE it. It’s the little things that make my day.

Oh and I also love the Borders.com deal right now. Any book that isn’t on sale you get $5 off though August 8. I had $120 worth of stuff in my cart (mainly Christmas gifts for the kids) and it brought my order down to $29.98. Plus I have 2 books for Ma in there, and she will pay me the $10 for. So twenty some books for $20? Works for me!!! Plus free shipping with orders over $25. Now today at work I’m off to look for el-cheapo books for me that are less than $5 so I can get them for free.

Afternoon all. Another busy day - went to the hospital to visit my friend and her new baby girl, Joscelyn, who was born on Sunday evening. Such a cutie - sorry, no pics!

Instead, I give you a picture of my early birthday gift from my husband - tadaaaa!!!   Me like!!!

I also decided I needed some new shoes for my new job, so I stopped at the mall on the way home and bought these! Speaking of the mall though, I now know for certain that the world is coming to an end. How, you say? Because there is a Krispy Kreme shop opening in the mall very shortly!!!

Okay, off to tidy up and get stuff done while HRH sleeps. Oops, before I forget …

Happy Birthday Swampus!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWAMPY!!!

Morning, everyone. Back later.

Happy Birthday, Swampy!

I’ve skimmed, but like always, I have CRS and have nuthin’ to say. :frowning:

Gotta get busy…

Happy burfday, Mr Swampus D. Bear. Hope it’s a good one!

Hope everything is OK with the insurance, Flutterby. Hopefully it’s just a “small administrative error” which can be fixed quickly, but it’s really really annoying when those little things mean instant panic and freakout on your end of things.

Haze, I’m also curious as to what a Magical Hoo-Ha does. I’m hoping for the “sing a little song when it’s happy” option, because that would be cool.

Vundy, shouldn’t the frosting be white and frothy? Some Cool Whip oughta do it, actually.

Nice present, Dotty! To be honest, I’m usually not a fan of diamonds, but I’ll make an exception for a gorgeous piece of hand candy like that one - clearly, your husband has excellent taste. Want Monkey is very pleased and is demanding a sparkly of his own… please feel free to send it over this way if you happen to grow bored of it.

'Ull, all.

Happy Natal Festivus to our Ursus.

I’m up but grumpy. Not great sleep last night–my neck is cricked and I can’t uncrick it, plus the heat is back with a vengeance–I don’t sleep well in AC.

I THOUGHT I’d be home alone today for the first time in over 2 months, but TH has decided to work from home today. Ever just really need alone time? That’s me right now… His car has to go in. I offered him mine, but he turned it down. The kids are going downtown with his mother today. Of the 3 of them, none of them are looking forward to it, I’m sorry to say. They do the same thing every year, despite the kids asking to do something different. I’m not saying that kids should be in charge of the the agenda, but after 5+ years of the Wendella boat ride down the Chicago river, I think they’re entitled to do something else. Ah, well, it won’t kill 'em!

Hmm. I’ll have to retry when I get home this evening. Sorry about that!

Meantime, Happy Birthday swampbear. I hope ol’ you know who does something … appreciative for you tonight.

First off …

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWAMPBEAR!!!

Many happy returns and hoping for some appreciatin’ later on.

Caffeination in progress still, at work. I think I’ve et too much though - my tummy is full! It was (mostly) good stuff, though - I mean good for you stuff, like fresh fruits. LOL Okay, I slipped a bit of chocolate in there too. That may be what pushed me over the top.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWAMPY!

yawn Must caffienate. Back later.
