Oh yeah, I definitely don’t want to pay for them. Especially if I can’t have them in time for Easter.
Keep in mind that Nike has nothing to do with these shoes. They’re coming from a group called MSCHF, which is basically a group of artists or troublemakers or whatever. Previous projects include “Jesus shoes” which were Air Jordans with holy water from the River Jordan in the soles and “Birkinstock” sandals, made from real Birkin bags.
Yeah, I kind of assumed even Nike wouldn’t go full-on “Satanism and human blood” for a marketing ploy.
No, that’s more of a Reebok play.
Or possibly the next Windows update.
When Nike showed him the first Air Jordans, Mike balked at the colors saying that the red and black were ‘the devil’s colors’. He relented when it was also pointed out that the team colors for the Chicago Bulls was also red and black.
So Jordans are the original Nike Devil Shoe.
How much do you think Kristi Noem charged them for her influencer fee?
Whoa. I see I have much cynicism still to learn!
This is why Republican / conservatives are so reprehensible.
They MUST have their outrage. They NEED to keep their base fired up and keep them hating their neighbors. They need to make the rubes that they’re conning believe that the city folk are devil-worshipping child murderers that are coming for them.
And they’ll tell any lie that they can make the marks believe, regardless of who it hurts.
Unfortunately, “a small group of unknown Brooklyn performance artists are selling novelty shoes made with a drop of human blood.” doesn’t really scan when your goal is to fire up outrage against godless liberal globalist multi-national corporations.
But, what the hell, the truth doesn’t matter. Let’s just throw the word NIKE into the mix. They make the other tennis shoes the godless liberals love, why not just TELL people that NIKE makes these as well?
Who does it hurt? Who cares if it hurts NIKE? Judging by the way they market to minorities, they are probably owned by liberals. Who cares if they lose a million or three, nobody conservative is getting hurt. Who cares if it will rile up some unstable rightist crazies who may threaten and attack NIKE employees?
Right wing e-mail accounts are probably blowing up this morning, letting their marks know that unless they send $100 to some PAC called PROTECT PATRIOT CHILDREN or something similar, the big bad liberal Nike Corporation will seduce their Christian kiddies and they’ll be sucking blood out of the heels of their tennis shoes after church on Easter Sunday.
Now, I’m not familiar with Nike and if I were, I don’t imagine I’d like them - I’m not particularly fond of businesses that market overpriced stuff to people that can’t afford it.
But they don’t deserve to be smeared as child-molesting Satanists. Just like Seth Rich and his family didn’t deserve to be accused of involvement in the conspiracies around his death, just like Joe Scarborough didn’t deserve to be accused of murdering his intern, just like John Roberts didn’t deserve to be accused of pedophilia.
Trumpists just don’t care who they hurt, as long as it’s not a fellow cultist. Sometimes it’s a big company, like Dominion Voting Systems. It may be a very small company, like the contractor that was terrorized and assaulted because he was working in a building that was a polling place and he parked his van in the parking lot.
But no one pays attention to this stuff anymore, because even the liberals have gotten played and deflected and sucked into beating up liberal companies for firing liberals for not being liberal enough. Pisses me off.
Last election in Arizona, proposition 208 was narrowly passed by voters. It tacked a 3.5% surcharge on income tax for income above $250,000/$500,000 (single/joint) to go to pay teacher and support staff salaries.
Besides a supreme court challenge – no surprise there – there is also a bill introduced that would let small business owners out of paying it. The Republican chair of the committee it is in has forbid legislators from saying “Proposition 208” in debating the bill.
So unfair when they are the ones doing their own goals. /s
When Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed a hastily passed voter suppression law that many are calling the new, new Jim Crow on Thursday night, surrounded by a half-dozen white men, he did so in front of a painting of a plantation where more than 100 Black people had been enslaved.
The fitting symbolism is somehow both shocking and unsurprising. In using the antebellum image of the notorious Callaway Plantation — in a region where enslaved Black people seeking freedom were hunted with hounds — in Wilkes County, Ga., as the backdrop for signing a bill that would make it a crime to hand water to a thirsty voter waiting on Georgia’s sometimes hours-long voter lines, the GOP governor was sending a clear message about race and human rights in the American South.
Kristi is scrambling to salvage her conservative standing. She vetoed the Transgender Athlete Bill on the grounds that it should not include college athletics because that could lead to boycotts and got a lesson in how quickly one can go from hero to zero among Trump followers.
A months-long investigation into voter fraud in North Carolina, spearheaded by an individual 1 appointed federal attorney, came back with 40 people who were not citizens and didn’t know they couldn’t register to vote.
It just may be that he’s not the sort of turtle we thought he was:
In summertime when the weather is warm, pregnant female sea turtles return to the beaches where they themselves hatched years before. They swim through the crashing surf and crawl up the beach searching for a nesting spot above the high water mark. Using her back flippers, the reptile digs a nest in the sand. Digging the nest and laying her eggs usually takes from one to three hours, after which the mother turtle slowly drags herself back to the ocean.
Maybe ol’ Ms. Mitch was just turning into the beach in hopes of making some children who do not despise him/her.
The MyPillow guy says after his lawsuit is heard by the Supreme Court, Individual 1 will be President by August.
Just curious, has any proponent of the Georgia law even attempted to justify making it a criminal act to hand water to persons in voting lines? I mean, I’d like to hear the bullshit excuse so I can at least sneer at it a little.
Sadly I think it remains to be seen if this is really an own goal.
They clearly think that they can do all their racism out in the open and no one will care in a post-Trump America. Let’s hope they’re wrong. Well that and that congress gives Biden some enforcement teeth to stop these voter suppression laws.
Supposedly it could be construed as a bribe.
It’s not just water. It’s anything free. It can be interpreted as electioneering.
Interesting. Most normal people actually work together to help each other during natural disasters. And of course there are law enforcement officers who are there too.
But not Republicans. Help others? Nah. Their plan is obviously to hunker down in fear, ready to shoot any one in sight.
This really does sum up their world view; fear of others, and deadly violence as a solution to any problem.
