Waitaminnit, lessee if I read that right: One lawyer from the large law firm filed that suit, without agreement from the management of the firm. That lawyer is no longer with the firm, and the firm has disavowed the suit. But if I read between the lines aright, the lawyer, now rogue, is still on the suit with Lindell.
Mission Impossible 8 - Rogue Lawyer A lawyer, fighting against all odds, joins the firm of Giuliani, Wood, Paxton & Powell to pillow fight for truth, justice and the American way.
Might not be able to sell this one, not only impossible, it’s improbable, and unprovable.
This news article is from January 6, but there were other things going on at the time that kind of overshadowed it, but now the conspiracy theory has resurfaced. Italy was the one that stole the election for Biden. They’re even calling it Italygate.
But here’s the quote that really makes this bit of news:
“Good for both home and battle” would make good copy in the ad for the AR-15 in a magazine.
I haven’t been able to verify that the judge is Republican, but he invariably sides with the Republican philosophy in his decisions, and he was appointed by George W. Bush.
Yanno, our esteemed State Attorney general, Brnovitch; Republican Senate President, Fann; and US Representative, Biggs keep bleating about how the audit here is just them responding to voter concerns about the fraudulent voting. When they run again I think I’ll attend their rallys and say, “I’m concerned that you are reptiloid shape changers from Zeta Reticuli who have taken human form. This is demonstrated by your utter lack of knowledge on how elections work in this state, either the process or its traditions. I demand you cease your campaign until you prove me wrong.”
There are others but their rallys are more out of reach. I will, of course, discount any evidence they come up with. “So your DNA tests as human? That just shows how skilled you are at shape changing!”
A commission to determine if someone is sane enough to run for and serve in public office? Seems the constitution didn’t narrow things down enough. I could nominate several members of the SDMB to serve as screeners.
So far most people are picking up on the ‘AR-15s are just like Swiss Army Knives’ angle, rather than the “homeland defense” quote. Of course the latter is the part that will endear Judge Benitez to insurrectionists and seditionists all through the nation and the Congress.
Perhaps this is a new trend we should look for in Republican messaging: hide your violent-overthrow-of-the-government encouragement inside a sure-to-anger-sensible-people crunchy outer coating, and your message will go much further.
By an incredible coincidence, neither did the Founders.
(In my view, the ability to completely ignore the words “a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State” should be part of every IQ test. If you can ignore it, your number drops by twenty points.)
Pay attention to the symbolism of barbarity when it is applied by a political faction that intends to use undemocratic means of gaining power. If we’ve learned something from the Trump era, it’s that the symbolism of brutality often portends barbarity and cruelty in reality. The brutality is a litmus test, and the commonly referenced ‘bad guys’ of history used cruelty’s symbolism to those who shared their values. And it almost always escalates. Yesterday it was caged migrant children. Today’s abortion laws that endanger pregnant women and WWII-era gas. Tomorrow…something else. Count on it.
Marginal Traitor Gangrene ups her game for the “Stupidest Member Of Congress” crown by demanding that the Biden administration provide answers on the origins of “the China virus” by June 31:
