Not one to miss out on the opportunity to pander to the Fox News crowd, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is also sending 30 Iowa state patrol troopers to the border, to help out at Texas’ request.
This comes a few weeks after Reynolds said the border issue “wasn’t Iowa’s problem” when the Biden administration asked states to help resettle migrant children. Suddenly, because another deep-red Trump-loving Republican sees an opportunity to stick it to the Dems, it’s enough of Iowa’s problem that we can afford to send a few dozen state troopers to Texas for two weeks. When the State Patrol is already understaffed by nearly 200 positions.
Nope, no pot-meet-kettle on the bolded stuff in the least bit, there.

I hate Kim Reaper. Braindead was bad enough but then he left to become the Am b ass ador to China and effed that up Thanks, Trump. So she stepped in as v.gov … and my fellow Iowans voted her back in again.
No wonder the Delta variant is crawling around since she slurped up Trump’s denial but also got vaccinated ahead of everyone here. I guess Iowa Trumpers can only keep one thought in their heads “fake news” and not “they got vaccinated”.
Here I was looking forward to not wearing a mask other than if I needed to (having a cold because the one time I caught a flu… I didn’t go anywhere, plus when my seasonal allergies kick in and I’m coughing… wearing a mask might keep others from thinking I’m a plague bearer :D).
While I hear that Saint Peter had the spring-loaded platform for propelling rejected applicants away from the Pearly Gates and toward an array of giant pinball bumpers feeding into a spiral slide to Hades all set up in time for Rush Limbaugh, I understand that he feels the need to to prepare something even more theatrical for His Heinousness. He asks us mortals to be understanding that this necessarily delays his departure from this mortal coil.
From what I hear, it’s not so much the out-of-staters will be actually working the border, but that they’ll provide training and support for those who are. And since “those who are” are actually federal Border Patrol agents, this likely means volunteers/militia/general yahoos who want to go out and capture some illegals.
In truth, though, it’s all a Fox bat-signal from red-state governors to keep their voters riled up and anxious to vote against the evil communist librul agenda.
That does it! I want to see a face-off between @Steve_MB and @Ann_Hedonia trading quips, comments, bon mots (and mal mots, too) on the current political scene and any other scenes they care to slice and dice with their rapier wits. I’m making lots of popcorn and dibs on front row seat. Who’s in?
