NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

Ah, but in KFM William Tregoe played John Fitzsimmons, while in Airplane! he was Jack Kirkpatrick.

How freaking cool is that to do basically the same role for two different zany comedy movies?

Oklahoma GQP chairman goes completely nutso equating employer vaccine mandates to the Holocaust. And doubling down. This is only one of many wild ideas (murder Hillary Clinton, equating all muslims as murderers, election fraud). In the article is a priceless family portrait of his family abusing the US flag and posing with high powered rifles and semi-automatics. Go to his facebook post at your risk.

To some credit, the Okie senators and congress critters issued a joint statement condemning his outburst - this time. They’d better watch out, he’ll be primarying their asses soon. The GQP committee is taking steps to remove him (we’ll see). Not supposed to say these things out loud.

Look for this clown soon on Faux, NewMin, QAloon, and the crazy traveling circus with MTG, Flynn, Gosar, Gaetz, etc…

This reminded me, every time I hear that clip of Trump from January 6th telling the crowd to “walk down to … the CAPitol” I can’t help hearing Professor Frink from The Simpsons.

“And now we’ll walk down there together, to the CAPitol, with the baseball bats and the beatings and the overthrowing of demOCracy, bw-HEY-hey”

At least Professor Frink has won a Nobel Prize.

Joseph Stalin’s daughter.

I hear you, but I doubt the wisdom of simply conceding that Republican politicians need not be held to any standards at all, due to their being inherently deplorable.

I think we have to call attention to their inherent deplorability, early and often.

The game being played by Lieu, Swalwell, and Dingle may well be considered a cynical one—they know Kevin McCarthy cannot and will not apologize because if he did apologize, his re-election campaign funds would immediately dry up. Completely.

But they can’t just throw up their hands and say ‘sure Kevin McCarthy is trying to normalize violence as an everyday, unremarkable tool in the political toolbox, but what do you expect from a Republican?’ If they said nothing they’d be helping McCarthy with his normalization-of-violence project.

I never suggested giving them a pass. If they are being sewerwads, we need to point that out, firmly and without relief. But we should not be demanding an apology. Tell them, and everyone, what vile slime they are, and imply that they are irremediable by not expecting them to, at long last, exhibit any sign of decency.

Make them beg us to stop repudiating them.

Nikita Khrushchev famously predicted to Richard Nixon that Nixon’s grandchildren (I think) would live under communism. Nixon responded that Khrushchev’s grandchildren would live under a democracy. (Source: One of those books that Nixon wrote.)

In 1991, Серге́й Ники́тич Хрущёв (Sergei Nikitich Khrushchev, son of Nikita) emigrated to the United States, and became a U.S. citizen in 1999. (Cite: Sergei Khrushchev wiki page)

Probably as cool as Duncan “Dean” Parkin, whose entire movie acting career consisted of playing bald, one-eyed, semi-coherent giants in Bert I. Gordon movies

He looked like this:

Not exactly a coincidence, though. KFM was written by Zucker, Abrams, and Zucker, who went on to write and direct Airplane!

Former Fox producer is accusing Fox of still tolerating sexual misconduct. He specifically accuses Andrew Napolitano of sexually harassing him and other young male workers.

Napolitano: “Oh, I thought you just meant women!”

I’m with you here without reservation.

There’s a certain understandable tendency–which I have in as great supply as anyone else–to want to avoid positions of vulnerability. Asking for an apology is perceived, rightly or wrongly, as a position of vulnerability, given that any sociopath asked for an apology will laugh in the face of the person asking.

So many won’t ask. The trick, though, is to make the request very, very public–and to make it a demand more than a request. Give Republicans the opportunity to demonstrate again and again and again that they are the party of Indecency and Sociopathy.

That won’t reach the indecent and sociopathic, of course—they’ll see the refusal to apologize as “strength.” But that’s not who the demand for apology is intended to reach: we’re always interested in the centrists. If they haven’t been paying much attention, this has the potential to reach them.

(I sense that we will never agree on this so I’ll drop it here.)

The latest conspiracy theory: The four Capitol police officers didn’t commit suicide, they were murdered because they had evidence that the insurrection was led by the FBI and Antifa.

I assume the hits were arranged by Hillary (she being an expert on such things). If so, they can be added to the Clinton Body Count™.

Falls under the subheading - no shit Sherlock.

Subheading: “Oh shit, my constituents are dying off! Who’s going to re-elect me??”

Yeah, I know, I don’t think he’s running again, but he may be too stupid to realize that.

Who could have foreseen this? I mean: nobody knew health care could be so complicated, amirite? Pay attention AND do what they say? Holy cow; are we all robots? That’s crazy talk!

Yeah, they’re going to get Sarah Huckabee - New Arkansas state motto - Just Shoot Me
