NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

God help her if she had baked the Democratic winner a plate of cookies. The Republicans probably would have lynched her.

Newt Gingrich goes full racist on his “replacement theory” rhetoric on Fox.

More like confusion.
I mean, baking cookies is what women do. /s

Its still a Stupid Republican idea, but I think your description of the situation is somewhat misleading.

I wasn’t that she got beat in the general election and congratulated the victor. She cam in third in a jungle primary, with a Democrat and a different Republican advancing to a general election, and as part of her congratulations to him she said she expected the Democrat to beat Republican opponent in the general. This is perilously close to an endorsement on her part, so I’m not surprised that the Chairman was pissed.

Still preventing her from voting in the filling of committee vacancies is a dick and possibly illegal move on his part.

This, exactly. He could have privately chastised her for her comments and then dropped it. Instead he confronted her in full view of other party members. She probably would have left even if he hadn’t told her she wouldn’t be allowed into the meeting.

During an interview with Fox News’ host Dan Bongino—you know, the fake tough guy and former cop who would give up his right eye to kiss the president’s feet—the former president claimed that he’d be dragged by critics if the COVID-19 “attack,” like the one happening now, happened on his watch.

Umm, da fuq?

Is the hair dye leaking into his brain? Does untreated syphilis cause delusion? Is the president losing what little bit of brain he has left?

In case you aren’t completely confused trying to follow the former president’s drivel, he added: “I feel about vaccines like I feel about tests,” he said. “This is going to go away without a vaccine. It’s gonna go away, and we’re not going to see it again.”

Didn’t he make that same prediction in January/February of last year? How’d that work out for him?

Ah, here is a list from October of all the times he said it was going to go away.

The only appropriate Republican response to losing a fair election is to accuse the winner of cheating and beat up anyone that acknowledges their victory or tries to Inaugurate them.

Yes X 3.

The fact that he has forgotten that COVID struck while he was president, that he pushed the development of a vaccine, and that he has, in fact, been vaccinated seems to be evidence that the vaccine causes brain damage, amirite? Or maybe it IS the orange hair dye.

While we’re on the subject, what does “I feel about vaccines like I feel about tests" even mean? What tests? COVID tests? Spelling tests? The ACT/SAT/GRE? Never mind.

I don’t think he’s saying that COVID wasn’t an issue when he was president. He’s just complaining that he got criticized for rising COVID numbers but Biden hasn’t and that is just so unfair.

The relevant point he’s studiously ignoring is that his rising COVID numbers and the criticism deriving therefrom had to do with his denial of the problem for months and then incompetence in dealing with it, whereas the current spikes aren’t Biden’s fault. To the extent they’re anyone’s fault it’s Republicans like DeSantis and Noem fighting against vaccination, mask-wearing and social distancing that are driving them.

It sure does:

That’s why we still screen on syphilis in clinical psychiatry. I’ve seen it only once IRL, but it’s impressive.
(end of hijack)

Well, there was an election, and he keeps telling us he won in a landslide.

I think he means the COVID tests. You remember about his complaining that if everyone would just stop getting tested the number of cases would go down and he could get back to presidentin’ instead of obsessing over trivial stuff.

That’s about as much effort I want to expend on this. I’m already feeling as though I’ve been poking at a cesspit with a stick, stepped a little too close, and and gotten some on my shoes.

You’re probably right - but the vaccine is an actual accomplishment that he sometimes wants to take (excessive) credit for. Why he is dissing at this stage, only a geriatric neurologist knows for sure.

I read that as ‘gastric neurologist’ and realized it made more sense. He has shit for brains.

This article touches on a plausible scenario for the next Capitol visit from the right.

In late 2019, he [Ammon Bundy] formed an organization called People’s Rights, which now claims more than 60,000 members nationally.

The Los Angeles Times has described People’s Rights as Uber for militias, a platform Bundy created that enables anyone with a beef against the government to dial up an armed protest on demand. Encrypted Signal messages allow members to communicate and rally each other to action in an entirely decentralized way, sort of like a 21st-century phone tree. Local People’s Rights groups also hold ham radio trainings and food canning lessons to prepare for the apocalypse—or, more likely, if they are deplatformed. “Our goal is so that anybody in People’s Rights can call, and if it is warranted, at least 10 people will show up in 10 minutes, and 100 people show up in 100 minutes, 1,000 people in 1,000 minutes, and so on and so forth,” Bundy told me in an interview in March.

A flash mob would be a very effective way to attack. Fortunately, there’s no way thousands of people descend on DC quickly without raising alarms & allowing time for a police response. I hope.

I’m hoping that the publicity around loss of jobs, prosecution and jail time will get the attention of many of these wanna be insurrectionists, and they are all talk, little action.

Some of them have come to the realization that their Dear Leader threw them under the bus.

“Rent a Riot!”

Basic riot - minimum of four hours. Use PayPal for quick payment.

This is very similar to what happened to me! I was fired from the editorship of the Wheeling Township TARSpaper after congratulating the Democratic mother ot of one of our state reps.

I was outta there before endorsing Nixon and Don Rumsfeld.

Not Republican, but their ilk. Anti-vax protesters tried to storm the BBC television center in London. Even though the BBC no longer broadcasts from there.
