NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

There was another attempt at trolling the Dems by trying to add an amendment preventing giving the infrastructure money to states whose governors have been accused of sexual assault and harassment.

It’s a requirement for Fox employees.

How about preventing giving money to states who voted for a President who has been accused of sexual assault and harassment?

Days ago, John Cornyn was calling the rent moratorium unconstitutional. He also voted against rent relief. Now he’s telling his constituents how to get the money.

Right wing turd Aubrey Huff finally got banned from Twitter, and not hours later, he’s opened up a new account bragging about it.

I see that view a lot amongst the Trumperati: Marxism, Socialism, Communism, Fascism - it’s all the same thing, it’s all bad, and it’s all left-wing.

I saw some guy trying to argue that fascists couldn’t be right-wing “because right wingers believe in FREEDOM!!!”

He was serious.

Loser Donald issued a press release today which consisted entirely of the words “BULLIES NEVER FIGHT!”, with no context or explanation.

Which I guess brings us one step closer to this Clickhole article becoming reality;

I love this story so much.

(And it’s a useful counter to the tiresome social media standbys ‘the Democrats always shoot themselves in the foot’ and 'the Democrats always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory’ and such—usually coming from posters who claim to be on the left.)

Haven’t seen this elsewhere but:

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttegieg was on Fox News Sunday, being interviewed by Bret Baier about electric cars. Baier asked why Elon Musk had not been invited to a particular White House event, wondering “Was it because Tesla is not unionized?”

I’m not sure why that would be a reason, but Buttegieg responded nonetheless:

(bolding mine)

A stark reminder of why the Post Truth era Republicans have worked so hard to bring about is so dangerous:

I’m feeling very dim-can you break down this story and why it’s a good thing?

Probably abit off topic but yeah depressing and sad times here in SB surfing community of which I am part of. As per the murderer reading his writings online etc he seemed to be a somewhat “feverish” christian…lots of gossip now but no real insight yet.

" non-binding amendment" means that amendment has no legal or binding force… IOWs the amendment means absolutely nothing and if cities/counties/states decide to defund the police there isn’t anything to stop them.

I unfortunately got to listen to some right wing radio for a couple of hours while at a client. They were interviewing an author (didn’t catch the name) and everything they did not like was Marxism. Gun control, gay marriage, abortion, minimum wage, infrastructure… all Marxism.

…Or Soshulism [ SIC ], cawwmmunism, or, as in the case my raging RW father, everything he doesn’t like is “left wing”. Left wing this, left wing that.

This DOES invite the question of whether the resolution defines what “defund the police” actually means.

…including Mom’s tuna casserole.

So the Republicans have erected a straw man which they have been flogging non stop that says that Congressional Democrats want to defund the police.

So Tuberville apparently drank his own flavor-aide* and, believing this lie, put an amendment into the infrastructure bill that will “punish”, (but without penalty) jurisdictions that defund the police. He expected that all of the Democrats would vote against it, thus proving that they hate the poilice and love crime. Instead they all voted in favor of it, effectively disproving what had been a main Republican talking point.

Yes, if someone has a link, I would be interested in seeing what the text of the amendment actually was.
