Depends on what test they give. If it’s that cotton swab of your brain through your nose, I believe that tests for the presence of actual virus particles. If it’s the blood serum test, that tests for the antibodies in your blood, which would persist long-ish after the virus itself is gone.
And furthermore, the antibodies in your blood differ depending on whether you had the disease, or had the vaccine.
They should start calling Greg Abbott “Greg Abbottoire.”
You can never be too careful these dangerous days. I’ve been taking a Regeneron tablet every day for the last several months, just to be sure. They only cost $2500 each when purchased in bulk.
(Okay, not quite really. The Regeneron treatment entails an infusion therapy with an IV needle in your arm for four hours. If nothing else, this should cure your needle shyness.)

How does this compare with the dreaded Spinal Tap where they thread the needle in at the (lumbar) base of your spine all the way up to the (thoracic) top? (Serious question, sort of.)
I never found that rough, but it was so weird to have that cold fluid pumped back in.
Other than the first time when the prophylactic blood thinners made the insertion site ooze for days and the second time when they had me prepped and then stuff came up and I waited under the drape for half an hour and then the prophylactic blood thinners made the insertion site ooze internally for days and the third time . . . when everything was totally unremarkable it was fine.
ETA Never had a lumbar puncture but it’s the one I dread.
