NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

The Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina storms out of the legislature after being questioned as to how his “critical race theory” task force was now criticizing trans kids.
Robinson is known for his anti-LGBTQ posts on Facebook. He has previously proclaimed that being gay is a step before pedophilia, that Michelle Obama is secretly a trans woman, and referred to trans-affirming people as “devil worshipping child molesters.” He also condemned gay people as an “abominable sin” in response to the 2016 Pulse massacre.

Why do I get the vibe someone is going to soon be found in a public bathroom stall tapping his foot?

He can’t help it if he has a wide stance!

 :joy:

. . . and declare as well that none of the dead victims are actually, you know, dead. So they can all still vote. With the majority being Republicans who wouldn’t vax (since the vaccine was approved anyway), this will be a Republican winning strategy.

Isn’t advocating for armed rebellion against law and order illegal?

Did the GQP officially give up being the party of law and order, or did they just slide into it without them noticing?

But it’s in defense of our democracy and our right to not have rigged elections that totally don’t elect the guy we think should have won.

Yeah, and I have a bridge in the Sahara up for sale.

“Rep. Madison Cawthorn falsely suggests elections are ‘rigged,’ says there…”

The North Carolina Republican said Sunday that he is “willing to defend our liberty at all costs.” A spokesman said Cawthorn was the stupidest republican in a hotly contested freshman class not advocating violence.

Qevin MqQarthy’s brother-in-law and mother-in-law own a company that has received more than $7 million in noncompetitive government contracts reserved for minorities. They claim to be part Cherokee, but they connect to a tribe which is not recognized by the US government nor by other Cherokee bands as a legitimate Cherokee band.

Congressman Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, a former MMA fighter with no military experience, has decided to smuggle himself into Afghanistan with a suitcase full of cash on a “rescue mission”, and now nobody seems to know where he is.

His staff claims he’s “safe”, but either don’t know or aren’t saying whether he made it in or not.

Clearly he took too many blows to the head in the octagon (his record was 3-5) and now thinks Rambo III was a documentary.

Man, I hope he brought a camera crew with him bc there’s no way that doesn’t turn out to be hilarious.

:notes: O-O-O-O-Oklahoma, where the wind goes sweeping through the brain…:notes:

Man, I have family there.

And you are so right. :weary:

The Taliban have cameras.

My guess is he is hunkered down somewhere in Oklahoma, so at some point in the next few days he can pop back into the limelight and declare success.

DumpsterFire’s big rally in Cullman County, AL ignites local Covid superspreader event.
"There are very few places whiter than Cullman County, Ala.

In the 2020 presidential election, 88.1 percent of Cullman County residents voted for Donald Trump. According to the Cook Political Reporter, the home base of Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District is quite literally the Trumpiest place in America. In a state known for racism and college football, Cullman County was the site of two of Alabama’s most notorious “sundown towns,” including a sign warning visitors: “Nigger Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on You in This Town.” In a U.S. Congressional report, “the ‘most violent of today’s KKK groupings,” operated a campsite near Cullman, suspected to be located on the 47-acre property owned by Alabama’s Grand Dragon. To be fair, it was a long time ago…

In 1980."
This could go in any number of threads.

Does Elizabeth Warren have a Twitter feed? Because please tell me she’s posted this.

Oh, piffle. Roberts county, Texas had over 96% of its votes cast for Trump in 2020 and is the record holder plus if you mouse over the top map here you can find plenty of counties over 90%.

Counties are not congressional districts. I mean, like, no county anywhere in the US is coterminous with a congressional district. (There might actually be one somewhere, but I am seriously doubting it.)

And if you read the line above that I *didn’t copy you will find

Yes, I am quite aware county and congressional borders rarely match. For this reason I’m not sure you can easily find a breakdown by district but there is still quite a difference between 88 and 96%.
