Roberts county has less then 1000 residents - I don’t know what the cut off would be, but it seems like you would want to set a minimum population size before awarding the Trumpiest Trophy (much like you need some number of at-bats before you can win the MLB batting title).
Well, and the other point is that the “trumpiest county” was at around 96%. No place in the country went 100% either way. Everywhere you go, there are decent people and assholes, with some morons and slackers mixed in. Everywhere.
Gym Jordan claimed he never questioned the results of the election. MSNBC came for him with the videos.
Normally I don’t condone wanton curbstompoing on folks, but…
Like no shit she wouldn’t go there (on bolded). At least she didn’t show a lack of clear thought by repeating herself.
I’m starting to get impatient with her.
Starting??? Even the RepubliQanon leadership stripped her of any committee assignments.
MqQarthy is threatening that, too, as soon as he takes over as Speaker of the House.
If you read the source, it turns out that there were 17 (count 'em) voters for Biden. I’m thinking it’s good the ballots were secret.
These people are afraid. Very afraid.
Good.
It’s only “good” if they’re kept out of power and held accountable for their actions. I wouldn’t bet much money on either of those happening; in fact both seem unlikely.
Succinct summary:
Texas this week showed us what a post-democracy America would look like.
Thanks to a series of actions by the Texas legislature and governor, we now see exactly what the Trumpified Republican Party wants: to take us to an America where women cannot get abortions, even in cases of rape and incest; an America where almost everybody can openly carry a gun in public, without license, without permit, without safety training and without fingerprinting; and an America where law-abiding Black and Latino citizens are disproportionately denied the right to vote.
This is where Texas and other red states are going, or have already gone.
…
But hey, as long as he didn’t join the Harvard Native American Heritage Club, it’s all OK, right?
There should be a 10 Million Woman March on Washington. Will obviously spill out from the Mall into neighbouring blocks. People in the past have purposefully poo-pooed protests, but if it gets to around a, sure, ridiculous amount like that, all I’d really care is to have a certain five asshole SC justices take it all in, and have it eat at them, letting them know, at the very least, that they were on the very, very wrong side of history. The optics, themselves, would be amazing.
I could imagine a counter Women For Trump thinigie, involving millions 5,000 attendees, and with a way higher ratio of men to women than the other do.
Candace Owens tried to make an appointment for a covid test and the testing office told her to fuck off.
pshyeah, like Kevin MqQarthy could have gotten into Harvard…
…she claims. I am not remotely convinced she didn’t make it up.
But even if it’s true, a business’s right to refuse service to people based on their personal beliefs is something the Republicans have proudly fought for. Owens should be happy about this.
Yeah, but whining about being a victim is so on brand.
GoDaddy, the provider for the Texas website that keeps track of reports of abortion, has kicked it off their platform.
14 Republican state legislators in Pennsylvania have gone to court to prevent the mail in voting law from going into effect, calling it unconstitutional. Eleven of them voted for it.
Isn’t this going to be kicked out of court every time due to “standing?”
I’m not a lawyer, but isn’t a big part of a lawsuit the aspect that the person filing is demonstrably harmed by the defendant? I mean, abortion is technically legal, even in Texas. And since the state isn’t responsible for enforcing the law, what standing do other citizens have to justify the lawsuit in the first place? Especially citizens of other states?
I’m no big-city lawyer, but it’s my understanding that this law grants standing to any person under its jurisdiction.
