NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

Astonishingly, he appears to have been able to restrain himself from performing a smartly-executed “Heil Trump!” at the end of his oration.

Or at least such was not reported.

Arrest all involved. Try all involved. Convict all involved. Execute all involved. #Jan6Insurrection.

Fixed that for Mr Bell.

The Dunning-Krueger effect needs to be renamed the Boebert-Taylor effect: “When you’re too dumb to understand just how dumb you are.”

It just struck me. What is it that Dan Patrick hopes to achieve with this?

Most people who offer million dollar bounty publicity stunts, for example the late Great Randy, Trump, Lindell, make these offers for things they are trying to prove don’t exist, that way when no one fulfills the claim to their satisfaction they can say that that proves that the things didn’t exist.

Dan Patrick is doing the opposite. He is setting up a massive bounty for something that he believes is rampant. There are two scenario’s either (most likely) there are few if any examples of voter fraud found, in which case he just basically proved that Trump and the other Republicans are lying. Or in the unlikely event that he is telling the Truth, and there really are hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes just lying around for anyone to see who cares to open their eyes, he just bankrupted the state.

So yeah, stupid stupid Republicans.

Another possibility (which doesn’t depend on what he believes, let alone the truth) is that the goal is to have the MAGAsses saying to each other, “Well, if Dan Patrick is putting up a million dollars, there must be something to it! MAGA!! Stop the Steal!!!” Thus the Base* remains riled up and ready for action.

* An apt term if ever there was one.

Like most rewards, I suspect it’s limited to the first person to provide such evidence, or will be split among a group if more than one person comes forward within a small time frame. That really shouldn’t be a problem.

The real problem here is, these people seem to really believe this nonsense. As you said, the longer this goes without someone stepping forward, the more likely it is that there is no evidence out there. I mean, of the hundreds or thousands of people who must have had access to the evidence to pull off this alleged fraud, none of them have stepped forward? Not even one is a single person, with no kids, who’s parents have already died, so they can’t be intimidated, who thinks having a million dollars and the admiration of 65 million Trump voters would be a great way to start a new life, has come forward?

Hell, the million dollars would just be the start. Trumpists have proven that they’ll flood anyone with millions in donations if they think it will hurt the Dems and/or help Trump. This person could attend a paid rally every week, in perpetuity, just so the Trumpists could hear the story of how they destroyed the Biden Presidency in person.

No, just those who voted for Biden.

The Republicans are determined to punish the whole country for electing Biden. Even though they believe the country did not elect Biden.

[Democrats] pointed to the fact that the country’s debts predate the current debate, arguing that some of its bills, including a roughly $900 billion coronavirus stimulus package adopted in December, had been racked up on a bipartisan basis. Democrats also stressed they had worked with Republicans under President Donald Trump to raise the debt ceiling even when he pursued policies they did not support, including the construction of a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

But the arguments failed to sway Republicans, resulting in a widely predicted outcome that forces Democrats to recalibrate their strategy on a tight timeline.

“None of this needs to happen. None of it. The only reason we’re here … is because Republicans are making this a possibility by preventing the government from paying its bills,” Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a speech opening the floor.

Sorry, Chuck, neither logic nor history has any place in this discussion.

But that’s been Trump’s methodology all along, lie to get what you want, then refuse to pay the deal when it comes due.

Why should “The Party of Trump” be any different?

So your are comparing hard-RWers to a world-wide fundamentalist terrorist organization? I mean, it does seem somewhat apt, except for the fact that American RWers do not really have a world-wide following. And that terrorist organization gained traction by means of helping out people who really needed it, which is the exact opposite of RW strategery.

" Christianity is dying and being replaced by cult of coronavirus"

I’m okay with that.

Well, I mean, he’s not exactly wrong. The practice of Christianity in the US has almost entirely abandoned the teachings of Jesus, and has replaced them with a weird death cult centred around an obsession with how best (worst) to respond to SARS-CoV-19.

And why not? We can at least see the effects of Coronavirus (peace and blessings be upon him!)

I mean really, it’s even smiting the unbelievers and everything…

Horse dewormer, bleach, UV light, fish tank algacide, nebulized H2O2. The list goes on and on except the one that’s been shown to work.

“We can’t trust those scientists! They keep changing their minds!”

Did you read the article? The premise is that liberal Christians have rejected God in order to worship vaccines. It’s truly crazy stuff.

The South Dakota agency that issues real estate certifications denied a certificate to the daughter of Governor Noem. So the governor met with the head of the agency, and soon, lo and behold, her daughter got a certificate.

I rejected God and all I got was this lousy tee shirt.
