NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

Did you try ‘dipshits’?

DeSantis praises “Let’s Go Brandon”

To quote Michael Scott:
If tomorrow my company goes under, I will just start another paper company, and another, and another. I have no shortage of company names.

Yikes.

Shelley Luther, a Republican candidate for Texas House and hairdresser who became a hero of the anti-lockdown movement during the coronavirus pandemic, recently said in a since-deleted tweet that Chinese students should not be allowed to attend Texas colleges.

“Chinese students should be BANNED from attending all Texas universities,” Luther said in the Wednesday tweet. “No more Communists!”

In a follow-up tweet that is still online, Luther said the state’s taxpayers “should not be subsidizing the next generation of CCP leaders,” referring to the Chinese Communist Party. In a subsequent tweet, she said it is “common sense” that CCP members “should not have access to our schools.”

Appropriate response:

On Friday, state Rep. Gene Wu, a Democrat from Houston who is Chinese-American, condemned Luther’s comments and asked her to publicly apologize.

“Luther’s statements are ignorant, hateful, and incite violence against not only Chinese Americans, but all Asian Americans,” Wu said in a statement. “To casually conflate all Chinese students in America with actual registered members of the ruling party in the People’s Republic of China is not only ignorance of an extreme nature, it is also the type of rhetoric that drives anti-Asian hate crimes.”

But what comes next is the part where Shelley Luther exhibits her authentically Republican style of reasoning [gag], namely, by completely ignoring and even contradicting Wu’s comments. “I don’t like what you said and you didn’t say it!”:

Asked for comment Friday, Luther declined to apologize and attacked Wu, who was among the House Democrats who broke quorum and went to Washington, D.C., last year in protest of Republicans’ priority elections bill.

“It doesn’t surprise me that a socialist Democrat who doesn’t even know how to show up to work thinks the position that communist Chinese citizens should not access taxpayer funded state institutions is racist,” Luther said in a statement to the Tribune.

None of this is news, of course. I’m just sittin’ here waiting for my washing to finish…

Well, this just perfectly captures the modern Republican approach to governing.

“It’s okay for us to do a shitty job on voting, because we did a shitty job with the pandemic!”

Help me unravel this, here… If he was teaching at the school while his sister-in-law was a student there, that also suggests a rather extreme marital age gap somewhere in there, does it not?

Possibly but not necessarily. My mom is 16 years younger than her older brother, for instance.

A decade gap between siblings is not uncommon, so a 28 year old man married to a 25 year old woman might easily have a teenage sister in law. But I am somewhat curious about the ages, too

The article states that he is now 33. His accuser is now 27. The alleged assault occurred when the accuser was 15, which means he was teaching at his Dad’s school when he was 21.

The accuser is now married to one of his siblings, of which he has six. That sibling was not identified in the article.

Other than Chatfield was quite young (21) when he was teaching at his Dad’s school, there’s really nothing untoward about the ages.

That picture was taken in New York City.

Congressman Jim Banks stumbled across an article talking about how the death rate has increased. He called it a catastrophe, and said we need to figure out what happened.

He got called out as an idiot, apparently not having any idea that there’s a pandemic going on. He replied by attacking his critics:

The critics pointed out that he apparently didn’t read the article, which clearly says, “What the data is showing to us is that the deaths that are being reported as COVID deaths greatly understate the actual death losses among working-age people from the pandemic. It may not all be COVID on their death certificate, but deaths are up just huge, huge numbers.”

“We need to figure out why it’s happening”

  • Jim Banks

How about if you read the fucking article Jim?

He might learn something. Can’t have that.

Not to worry. I’m sure Fox News will explain to him it’s all the fault of Hilary’s Death Panels in the basement of the pizza shop.

Fox blames the snow that held up the I95 traffic for hours on Democrats. Because they don’t want local police to have military equipment.

Wait…they have tactical snowplows now?

Hmmm…does napalm melt snow?

I would guess “not very well.” Surface melt down a foot or so then refreezes into black ice that smells of Uncle Fred’s Sunday “BBQs.”

It’s death, Jim, but not as we know it.

It’s worse than that, it’s biology, Jim!
